Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse-Chapter 420: The Girl In The Alley
Chapter 420: The Girl In The Alley
Alicia simply ignored Adam as she started to tap a rhythm on the tabletop. She knew that this would be enough to drive the man crazy and give in to her. It would be so much simpler if she were able to manipulate him like she did everyone else, but for some reason, she couldn’t.
The fucker wasn’t even a spirit user.
"I only have one more upgrade serum for space," said Adam as he walked over to a locked filing cabinet. "You are either going to have to provide me with more space power users so I can extract their powers and convert them into an easily consumed source, or you are going to have to go without." freewebnoveℓ.com
"What about spirit powers? Do you have enough of them to produce another one of those serums?" she asked, dismissing what he had said about he space powers. It was hard enough finding and killing them... it wasn’t like they just dropped into her lap.
Alicia paused for a moment as she thought about it. "I am assuming that if the space power user is extremely strong, then that passes on to me, too. Right?"
Adam raised an eyebrow as he pulled out a small glass jar with a dropper inside. There were only a few ounces of liquid at the bottom, but it was enough. "I wouldn’t touch Luca if I were you," he advised with a shrug. Actually, scratch that. "Never mind," he smirked as he handed her the jar. "You do what you want."
He was trying to create a perfect world for Lucifer, and while he needed order, he knew she needed chaos. And since that was what she needed, then Adam would make sure to provide it. Starting with Alicia.
"I plan on it," smiled Alicia as she unscrewed the lid and pulled the dropper out. Tilting her head back, she inserted two drops into each eye, closing them tightly so that the liquid couldn’t escape. Within seconds, she felt her power expanding.
Taking in a deep breath, she opened her eyes, ignoring the fact that she was crying bloody tears. "Who said that you were stuck with whatever powers you were given? This is Country M. Everything can be yours as long as you take it."
Adam shook his head, but didn’t bother to say anything else. Talking to her was like talking to a brick wall. Not to mention that consuming someone else’s powers had the same side effects as any street drug. And right now, she was so high that she couldn’t even move.
Opening the door to his private lab, Adam kicked the chair with Alicia on it out into the hall, almost taking out Eric in the process.
"What do you want?" demanded Adam, already feeling the headache forming behind his eyes.
"What do you have for bugs?" asked his son as he moved around Alicia and into the room like he was more than welcome.
"Do I look like an exterminator?" hissed Adam, slamming the door once Eric was inside.
"Well, according to some, you have exterminated the human race, so what is a bug or two?" sneered Eric as he opened the door that should not have been opened. Walking in to look at the cloned copy of Hattie, Eric couldn’t help but reach out to touch her.
"Get your fingerprints on that glass case and I’ll cut off your hand," growled Adam, pushing Eric out of the way just in case. "And I have nothing for bugs."
"You might want to think about inventing something," announced Eric. "I have it on very good authority that we need a can of Raid or 50 for the coming days."
Adam cocked his head to the side, studying his son. "And who is this ’good authority’?"
"My wife."

The man stumbled into a dark alleyway, desperate to get out of the sun. At first, it hadn’t bothered him at all, but now, each ray was like a needle piercing his skin.
Letting out a soft moan, he wiped the sweat from his forehead as he crouched down in a dark corner. However, the pain only continued to get worse until he opened his mouth in a silent scream. Collapsing on his side, he closed his eyes just as a five-centimetre centipede crawled out of his mouth and across his cheek.
All the man knew was pain. He had just been released from the quarantine building a few hours ago, and now this was happening. Why him? What did he do to deserve this pain?
"I can grant you a wish," called out a little girl. Opening one of his bloody eyes, he looked at the child in a black poofy dress and pigtails. She was sucking on a lollypop even as she stared at him. "You might want to make it fast; you don’t have a lot of time left."
"I wish I wasn’t in pain," gasped the man, even as a second centipede crawled out of his ear and landed on the ground.
"Granted," smiled the girl as she rose to her feet and stepped away from his body. "Hopefully, in your next life, you’ll be a bit smarter. Do dirty things, and dirty things will be done to you."
The man opened his mouth to protest, wanting to declare his innocence. But the look on the girl’s face warned him that she already knew all his sins. It wasn’t his fault that she was his type. Looking up at her again, he realized that she was a bit too old for him.
"You’re right," she said with a nod of her head. "You deserve every bit of pain coming... but not all pain is physical. Don’t worry, I won’t make it last long."
Spinning around, her skirts fanned out for a brief second before she disappeared at the other end of the alley.
The second she was out of sight, the man felt nothing but numbness. However, without the pain, he wasn’t able to pass out when his entire chest exploded from the inside out. Hundreds of shiny black centipedes raced out of the open cavity before disappearing in the shadows.
The moment he drew his last breath, his body completely disappeared. There was no blood, or muscles, or organs. The centipedes had already consumed everything. Only one little girl knew what happened in that alleyway, and she wasn’t telling anyone.
