Chapter 433: You’re Her

The little girl cocked her head to the side as she stared at Greed. The demon started to twitch, feeling a bit uncomfortable under her gaze, but he didn’t understand or know where that feeling was coming from.

Maybe she was older than she looked?

Maybe she didn’t have any parents left?

Greed frowned in consideration. "If you don’t have any parents, you can always stay with me. I can look after you and keep you safe from anyone who tries to hurt you."

"You’re an idiot, right?" asked the girl, confused. She blinked a few times, even as her head slowly went to the other side as if that would help her think better. "I mean, that is the only explanation."

"That’s not nice," stated Greed, coming to his feet. "You need to be more respectful when speaking to others. You never know when you will come across someone stronger than you. You are lucky that you walked into my place and not someone else’s. You would never know how you died."

"I’ll let you know when I come across someone stronger," sighed the girl like Greed was the problem. "But to get back to when the conversation made sense. Daddy isn’t here right now; you should be grateful. Second, I can grant your wish... for a price."

Now it was Greed’s turn to narrow his eyes at the little girl. Every fiber in his body screamed at him to protect her, no matter what... but her words...

Those were tough to swallow.

"Your father should be shot," said Greed, finally.

"I mean, you can try if you want. I don’t recommend it, but it would be interesting to see if Daddy can kill a Sin," shrugged the girl. Walking over to the couch, she took a lollypop out of thin air before turning her attention to Greed.

It looked like she wanted to ask him for something, but quickly shook her head. "You might want to hurry. Alicia is going to be here soon, and you need to figure out if you want to see your brothers or not."

Greed’s body shuddered as he tried to muster something to attack the girl. Since she knew exactly who and what he was, then she was too much of a liability to allow to live. However, at the same time, the very idea of hurting her made him want to puke.

"Too late," she shrugged, just as a knock came at the door.

"Go hide," grunted Greed, tilting his head toward where the bedroom was. "I’ll get rid of her and then we’ll continue this conversation."

"No," replied the girl, coming to her feet. Sticking the lollypop in her mouth, she sauntered over to the door. "Alicia is playing with fire. I might not be able to kill her, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t play."

Before Greed could stop her, the girl flung open the door and looked up at Alicia.

"We’re busy, what do you want?" The sound of the girl’s innocent voice was causing Greed to panic in an entirely new way. The woman at the door had given him a serum that would eventually kill him, and here was a child poking at the bear.

"Sweetness," started Greed, coming forward and placing his hands on the girl’s shoulders. "Let the adults talk. Go into the bedroom and play."

"Wrong nickname," sighed the girl. "Call me Little Bit. And I’m not going anywhere, am I, Alicia?"

"Do I know you?" demanded the woman, even as she gazed deep into Little Bit’s eyes. "You need to leave now and never come back. This place is full of demons and monsters, it is too scary for someone like you."

"I am really getting tired of this," sighed Little Bit as she looked over her shoulder at Greed. "I really shouldn’t be this forgettable. You two are starting to give me a complex." Letting out another disappointed sigh, she rolled her eyes at Alicia. "And of course this place is full of demons and monsters. I’m here, aren’t I? If you were looking for a way to scare me off, you need to do better."

Alicia turned white before her entire face exploded in a bright red blush. "You’re a spirit user, aren’t you?" she demanded, pushing Little Bit forward until she was able to close the door behind her.

If she was going to kill the kid, then she couldn’t afford to have any witnesses.

"No," answered the girl as if she didn’t understand what was going on or Alicia’s intentions. "I’m just not as stupid as some others." With her thumb pointed directly at Greed, there was no room for debate on who she was talking about. "Say your piece and then fuck off."

"Is she yours?" demanded Alicia, looking up at Greed. "Since when did you have a child?"

"You know more about my life for the past four years than I do," shrugged Greed, his green eyes not giving away anything. "You tell me."

"Tired of being invisible," sighed Little Bit as she rolled the lollypop around in her mouth. "Coffee me," she continued, holding out her hand at Greed.

Greed froze as he heard her demand. Without a word, he took a coffee out of his space and handed her a black mug with a cute unicorn on it. On its back was a cartoon of Death, complete with the scythe.

The girl didn’t even blink as she pulled the candy out of her mouth and chugged the coffee. "Just what I needed," she sighed when it was all gone. "Now I can deal with this shit show."

Greed’s eyes never left the small child so he failed to notice the look on Alicia’s face. However, the moment she took a knife and rested it against Little Bit’s neck, Greed’s temper snapped.

"You might not want to do that," muttered Little Bit, sticking the lollypop back in her mouth. "Big Brother and Poo Bear were really serious about me not dying again, and seeing as they don’t know I got out of bed, I really don’t want to make them even more mad."

"You’re her," hissed Alicia, her eyes flashing bright orange for a second. "Aren’t you?"
