Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse-Chapter 434: One Of Your Sins
Chapter 434: One Of Your Sins
I was beyond done with absolutely everything. Tank and Dimitri had just put me to sleep when I heard Luca’s wish calling out to every part of me.
It was nothing like when the humans wished, or I somehow managed to get into their dreams. The second Luca said the magic words, I was in his apartment before I knew what was happening.
Luckily for me, I was dressed and decent, unluckily for both Luca and me, I wasn’t able to let the others know where I had disappeared to. That means I was going to have two very pissed off monsters coming to hunt me down in a few minutes.
Which meant that if I wanted to fulfill Bishop’s wish, I had to deal with Alicia before one of us killed her.
And let me tell you, not being able to kill her at this moment was making me cry. Sniffing slightly, I blinked rapidly, trying to put the tears back in their ducts. I wasn’t worried about the knife, I mean, I was 90% sure I could survive my throat being slashed, if not a complete decapitation, but Luca looked ready to commit murder.
The temperature around us dropped so suddenly that I felt Alicia shiver behind me. Unfortunately, with her jerky movements, her knife slipped, sliding into my throat and causing me to bleed.
Which dropped the temperature even more.
"And you’re dumb," I grunted, replying to her earlier question. "I thought we already covered the introductions."
Once again, Alicia trembled, causing the blade to go even deeper into my skin. I could feel Luca’s fury from where I was standing, coming off him in waves as his green eyes focused on my blood.
Ah, shit. Green eyes. No wonder he was more demon than human right now. But why couldn’t either side of him remember me? I wasn’t kidding when I said that I was getting a complex about how easily everyone seemed to forget me.
I was the Devil, for God’s sake... doesn’t that mean anything to anyone?!?
"Drop the knife, Alicia," grunted Luca. However, I saw his jerky movements as he stood against her. It was like it... hurt him...
"What did you do to my man?" I asked, dropping all pretense. Grabbing the wrist that held the knife, I pushed it away from me, even as I grabbed her wrist. Spinning around, I kicked her knee out from under her until she was kneeling on the ground between me and Luca, her hand still holding the knife at her own throat.
"Luca," whined Alica, even as the blade dug into her skin. However, unlike her, I had control. I wasn’t willing to let any part of me be infected by the woman on her knees, not even the blood on the blade. "What are you doing? Kill her! Kill her!"
Letting out a scream of pain, Luca dropped to his knees, clutching his head in pain. Letting out a blood-curdling scream, he flung his head back, showing me his bleeding eyes and ears. Whatever was happening to him, it was slowly killing him. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
And it was all because of Alicia.
"I don’t think we have formally met," I said calmly, all emotions wiped from my body as I looked down at the woman. "I am Hagatha Lucinda LaRue. Most people call me Hattie, but those who know me well occasionally call me Luci. I am the Queen of Hell, I am the Devil that you pray to avoid every night. I am the one who can bring this entire world to its knees if I so desire. And you, my dear Alicia, have fucked with the wrong person."
Instead of doing the smart thing and begging for her life, Alicia simply tilted back her head and laughed. At me. She laughed at me like there was some big joke that I didn’t know about.
"Who cares?" she purred, collecting herself. "Luca is mine, and there is nothing you can do about it."
I raised an eyebrow as Alicia tried to come to her feet, but it appeared that she had forgotten all about the knife. Digging it into her neck, I pushed her back down. "Luca was never yours, will never be yours. Even if his human body chooses you over and over again... he is mine."
I spoke slowly so even she could understand. "The soul inside his body, the demon that rules the meat sack... he is mine. My creation. Made by me, for me. If I tell him to do something, he will never go against me."
I thought Alicia was smarter than this, I really did. But when she doubled down on her stance, I knew that she was dumber than a bag of bricks, and there was absolutely no saving her.
Not like I was going to.
"If you force the issue," gasped Alicia as her blood started to drench the collar of her shirt. So much for not wanting to combine our blood. "Luca will die. His brain will explode, and the man you claim as yours will be no more. All that will be left is another mindless zombie, completely helpless to my every desire."
"There really is no harm without comparison," I grunted, oddly impressed with her. Here was me thinking that I had taken away the Sins’ choices then I had given them part of my soul. I thought that was why they were so dedicated to me. But no, I really had nothing on this woman in front of me.
I, the Devil, was desperate to make sure that my men had free will while this human was determined to take it away without a second thought.
"You really are dumb, aren’t you?" I sighed. With my hand, not controlling the knife, I snapped my fingers. The painful screech that Luca was making cut off.
"What?" he demanded, his eyes unfocused as he looked around the room. "I don’t understand."
"You are mine," I hissed at him. "I created you; only I can destroy you. Get it? Next time you are in pain, find me. Now whatever was eating at your brain is gone. Try saying thank you."
"Thank you," breathed Luca as he looked up at me from his knees. "You said that you are the Devil? I’m one of your Sins."
My mouth dropped open as I stared at the man in front of me, just as the door crashed open behind me. I guess my time had run out.
"Hattie!" bellowed Tank, taking in everything in the blink of an eye. "You’re bleeding. Again."
