Chapter 459: Coffee And A Show

Letting out a bored sigh, I watched as day turned into night as the storm clouds gathered and the sun was blocked out.

After Bishop left, or was kicked out, however you want to look at it, the guys and I moved to the roof to watch the show. The romantic atmosphere was completely gone, and instead of forcing it to come back, I decided just to call it.

I sat in the middle of eleven guys, like the center of some type of new constellation. I was their sun, and they were simply there to rotate around me. I have to admit, I kind of like that idea.

Letting out a yawn as the dark sky started to dance with lightning, I leaned back into Greed’s arms. "Your coffee," he purred, holding out a travel mug complete with a lid. "I’m pretty sure it’s the way you like it."

Taking a sip, I hummed happily. "Milk and sugar," he assured me. "With just a hint of coffee."

Taking another sip, I tilted my head back to give him the promised kiss. "You remembered," I said, going back to the coffee happily. It wasn’t candy, but given all the drama between me and Luca, this might as well be a massive diamond ring. Or his soul.

"I never forget what’s mine," he purred, looking down at me. His face was much softer than I was used to from Luca, but I also didn’t mind it.

The guys around us let out a wave of groans and complaints when they heard his words, but I could only laugh.

"Seriously?" Dimitri grunted. "Your meat sack’s brain was turned to mush, you forgot everything about our Queen, and a simple cup of coffee was all it took to reset everything?!?"

"Hardly," scoffed Luca as he tightened his arms around me. "Spending time with my Little Bit, and skin to skin contact also helped get back most of the memories. I still have gaps here and there, but I think I know a way to fix them."

Nibbling on my neck like it was a slice of cake, I felt Luca smiling even as the guys continued to complain.

"At least he got the order right," Beau muttered as he threw a piece of popcorn into his mouth. Along with my coffee, Luca had enough bags of popcorn to make the show fun. "You bring her black coffee again and I’m not saving your ass from being beaten," continued Beau, throwing some popcorn at Dimitri.

In the distance, Bishop roared something dramatic as lightning tore through the battlefield, pulling our attention away from my coffee and back to the final boss battle in front of us.

Eric arched a brow. "Did he seriously just scream ’This is my city’? Bro, calm down. The centipede doesn’t know or care about the city. I’m pretty sure he just wants dinner."

"Okay, does anyone else think he talks way too much during the fight?" Désiré groaned, squinting at the fight. "Who was that monologue for? Us? The corpse?"

"’This is my city’—like okay, Maximus," Salvatore muttered, and I could practically hear him rolling his eyes. "You still smell like burnt centipede."

"He absorbed lightning," Ronan sighed, popping popcorn into his mouth. "So original. Never seen that before in every anime ever. If he is trying to prove a point, he needs to come up with his own moves, not rehash something that he saw on TV before."

"His opening stance was garbage," Dimitri said flatly. "Feet too far apart. Bad balance. That centipede should’ve pancaked him right out of the gate. Seriously, Dante, he was your man forever and a day. Did you not teach them how to fight? And look...too much lightning, not enough fists," he continued, clearly disgruntled. "Commit to the punch or sit down."

"I finished a sandwich and two sides of fries before the final blow," Beau chimed in, munching on more popcorn. "And I still had time to grab dessert before the fight even really started."

"And then he limps out like he just soloed Hell itself. Dude. You tripped on rebar," sneered Eric, waving his hand in Bishop’s direction. Clearly, the guys were having a good time at Bishop’s expense.

Luca smirked. "Three missed kill shots. One on the lunge, two during the wall slam. He’s flashy—but inefficient. That’s the difference between a king and a god. A god would have had this fight over before it even started. I mean, he is fighting a giant bug, after all."

Eric leaned toward Tank. "He didn’t even dodge the third hit. He just... caught it... with his face."

"I thought demons were supposed to be fast," Tank muttered, cocking his head to the side. "My hounds are faster and more efficient."

"42.6% of his energy output was wasted on theatrics," grunted Chang Xuefeng, voice completely monotone. "That lightning bolt? Pure showmanship. Could’ve just stabbed the creature in the brain. I’ve seen more impressive deaths from toddlers with rocks."

"He paused mid-fight to monologue. Twice," Dante added without looking up from sharpening his blade. "I’m embarrassed for him. Can we pretend like he wasn’t one of my men? I might die of shame if it is brought up again."

I hummed, nodding my head. "But there are some benefits to the show," I said, pointing to the demons who looked at Bishop like he had hung the moon and the stars. "At least the demons are going to target him as the strongest."

The guys went silent as the Sins turned to look at me. "Tell me I’m wrong. You no longer have to be the kings of Hell. Let Bishop handle all that shit. Demons have really short memories," I continued, looking directly at Luca as I spoke. "They will constantly be trying to challenge him, thinking that he is the one on top."

"No more challenges," murmured Dante, his eyes sparking for a moment. "That seems... nice."

Luca grunted as he nodded his head. "Why not let Bishop taste what we’ve been dealing with since the beginning. We’ve done it long enough."

The boys turned silent as we all looked down at the ’victorious’ Bishop. "Let’s congratulate the winner," I said, coming to my feet. "And then let’s head home. I’m done with this world for a while. Let’s see if I have any more presents waiting for me, yeah?"

Taking one last sip of my coffee, I looked down at the ex-angel. Let him enjoy his crown. I already had my throne.
