Chapter 138: What To Do?

"What are you thinking about?" Riven asked, his voice playful as he leaned in and poked Eli’s cheek.

Eli jumped slightly, startled by the sudden touch. He blinked, then quickly shook his head, cheeks already flushing with color.

"It’s nothing," he said a bit too fast, eyes darting away.

Riven tilted his head, not entirely convinced, but he didn’t press further. Instead, he let his finger linger for just a moment before pulling back. The expression on Eli’s face was amusing—embarrassed, flustered, and very much trying to look composed.

"I’ll bring herbal tea next time," Eli said abruptly, his voice quiet but sincere. "I... Hope there’s a next time."

There was a flicker of vulnerability in his tone. It was quick, almost hidden, but Riven caught it.

"Of course! We are friends!" Riven jumped on Eli to hug him, just like Eli did earlier.

Because of the force, Eli was now lying flat on the bed, and Riven was on top of him. Seeing Riven like this... And feeling Riven press against him, Eli felt weird, a new kind of weird, was it a bad kind of weird? Eli did not think so. His mouth was slightly open, he did not know what to say or even think!

"Ah, I used too much force." Riven quickly got off the bunny and pulled the bunny back into a sitting position.

Eli frowned at the emptiness he felt when Riven got off of him. He felt hot... And stuffy. He quickly raised his hand to touch his forehead. Was he running a fever? No, the indications did not point to it.

Eli looked up at him, eyes wide for a moment. Those emerald green eyes were staring at him intently, waiting for him to speak. His gaze lowered and landed on Riven’s lips. They bloomed into the most beautiful smile.

"Oh, um. It’s alright! I’m not hurt." He quickly added. He needed to change the topic.

Riven nodded.

Then, after a beat of silence, Riven glanced toward the door, checking instinctively. His voice lowered slightly as he leaned in again, this time more serious.

"Keep this between us, alright?" he said. "Don’t tell the Alpha."

Eli straightened at that, his ears twitching in surprise.

Riven held his gaze. There was no teasing in his eyes now—only quiet urgency.

Eli nodded slowly. "Okay."

Riven hesitated, then spoke, each word deliberate.

"Do you have... Anything? Birth control herbs. Pills. Tonics. Whatever you’ve got."

Eli’s eyes widened. He opened his mouth slightly, as if to say something—but then he stopped. He looked at Riven, searching his expression for something. But Riven gave nothing away. He wasn’t embarrassed. He wasn’t flustered. He just looked like himself.

Eli didn’t ask questions.

He didn’t need to.

He was a smart bunny. Intuitive. There were a hundred things he could’ve said, but none of them felt necessary. Riven wouldn’t have asked if it wasn’t important. Eli understood that.

So he simply nodded again.

"I’ll bring them tomorrow," he said softly.

Riven relaxed, just a little. He leaned back into the pillows and gave a small, grateful smile.

"Thanks."

Eli looked down at his hands, fingers curling lightly into his lap. The air between them had shifted. It wasn’t uncomfortable—it was just heavier than before. There was an unspoken understanding now, quiet and mutual.

They didn’t need to explain anything.

They didn’t need to speak what they already knew.

"I’ll make sure it’s safe," Eli added after a moment, his voice steady. "Nothing too strong, nothing harmful. Just something to keep things from... Happening."

It was confirmed that there was something between the Alpha and Riven. He just did not know to what extent. Eli faced his own set of issues when coming in contact with powerful, creepy men who simply want to exploit others. He could not be so sure that it was not the case here. Why else was Riven asking him in secret?

Riven did not have a clue about what was running in his bunny’s mind. His goal in this world was simple. To have loads of fun with hot men. And he could not do that while pregnant. If he dared to step out of the house while pregnant, both Soren and Ronan would tie him up. That was the problem with these powerful men. freewёbnoνel.com

And considering... The fertility of the male leads, it was better to stay safe than sorry.

Eli’s ears twitched again. He looked like he wanted to say more—but he didn’t. He held back, respecting the space Riven had given him.

The silence settled once more, this time softer. Gentler.

Riven tilted his head slightly to glance at him again.

"You’re really good at this," he said.

"At what?"

"Being there without making it awkward."

Eli blinked. "Oh."

His face turned pink again, but he smiled—just a little.

"I’m just... glad you trust me," he said.

"I do," Riven replied, without hesitation.

That made Eli’s ears perk up slightly, the tips flushing with colour. He bit his lip, then nodded to himself.

"I’ll come by in the morning," he said. "You don’t have to call. I’ll just... Come."

Riven smiled at that comment. This meant that they were getting closer. Out of all the male leads and all the hot men in this world, Riven wanted Eli the most! He already had Soren, now he just needed Eli!

Ever since his transmigration, he has been stuck in mansions, unable to leave. They’re nice and luxurious, but they were also very stuffy! He wanted to go out.

He went out exactly one time, he would not count the other time, considering he got kidnapped. An outing, no, it was a nightmare.

So now, he intended to go out. Considering the elders were still a looming threat, he could only go out within the estate. How about the gardens? He saw it under the moonlight, now it’s time to witness it under the sun.

"Would the Alpha allow it?" Eli asked with concern.

Riven stared at Eli for a second, contemplating what to say. He earned Eli’s sympathy by pretending Ronan was some big, mean alpha... Which he used to be. If he revealed the truth now, wouldn’t it be a huge shock?
