My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World-Chapter 402: Baelzor’s Ace
Chapter 402: Baelzor’s Ace
After Melina protected Nessa and herself from the hellfire attack, her soft awakening activated, using ice magic as its base.
The princess’ skin got slightly more pale, and her silver hair looked frozen solid, making it resemble stalactite icicles.
Her body produced a cold aura, and with each step she took, the ground beneath her feet was frozen solid.
Without uttering a word, Melina pointed her index finger at the devil, standing over ten meters away from her, and generated a massive ice spike that rose from the ground right under Baelzor.
The devil waved his sword and shattered the icicle before it could impale him, but Melina kept increasing the size of her attack until the devil was overwhelmed and pushed back.
Clenching his sword tightly, Baelzor released an incredible amount of demonic energy before rushing straight at the princess.
Melina, however, stood still in the same spot, sharpening her gaze at the monster as the ground around her was fully covered in a layer of ice.
The radius of her attack was quite large, with at least twenty meters of ground entirely covered by her magic.
Nevertheless, Baelzor’s feet had grown claws that allowed him to get a better grip without slipping, continuing his offensive forward.
"HA! Did you think I would fall for such a stupid trap!?" Baelzor shouted as he kept rushing towards the princess with his sword in hand.
Still, Melina didn’t seem bothered by the devil, maintaining her serious gaze while standing in the same spot.
Clasping the tip of her fingers together, the entire area that was covered by her ice had dozens of spikes rise from the ground in less than a second, stabbing Baelzor’s forearm.
Quickly making her fingers lose contact with each other, the ice spikes disappeared, uncovering Baelzor, who held his wounded arm in shock.
’What was that...?’ The devil pondered.
At that moment, Melina tapped the tip of her fingers against each other again, making the frozen ground around Baelzor produce four thick, tall walls, trapping him in a small cube.
Not even a second after the walls appeared, two adjacent walls had ice spikes extruding from them, and they started to move closer to each other, making Baelzor jump high into the air to escape the deadly trap from the hole above him.
’I see... She can freely control the ice in the area covered by her magic,’ Baelzor deduced.
Noticing that he would have enough time to get away, the devil smiled as he rose from the top of the four walls.
However, Nessa was waiting for him at the top, clenching both of her fists tightly and punching Baelzor’s gut back down into the trap with all her force, generating a shockwave from the devil’s crash.
As Melina released the contact from her fingertips momentarily, the ice walls and spikes disappeared in an instant, showcasing Baelzor bleeding and panting loudly from the pain.
*Ptoo!* "Goddamit, Nessa, you bitch!" Baelzor shouted with anger and frustration, spitting out blood.
The princess and the pink-haired devil prepared themselves to attack again, but they were halted when Baelzor released a deafening shout that made them cover their ears in pain.
"DRAKZEN, DO IT!!" Baelzor yelled, his voice reverberating and echoing all over the city.
At that moment, the devil’s body began emanating a much stronger aura, melting Melina’s ice field beneath him.
"I didn’t think I would need to do this..." Baelzor muttered, his figure getting shrouded by the dark energy coming from his body.
’Finally... His true form,’ Melina thought, taking a more stable stance without unlocking her gaze from the devil.
When Baelzor was covered entirely by his demonic energy, his size grew to about ten meters, and his appearance resembled that of an imp, although much more sizable.
His skin was ashen white, and his horns were carbon black. He had glowing red eyes and a burly bodybuild that made him look even bigger than he was.
Melina and Nessa stood before the giant devil before them, keeping their backs straight with confidence, and as Baelzor pointed his claw at them, they jumped to the side to avoid getting hit by an invisible force that shattered the ground where they stood.
The princess slid across the battlefield using her ice magic, creating an ice trail and making it seem like she was snowboarding while avoiding the giant’s attacks.
Meanwhile, Nessa used that moment when her opponent was distracted to give him a powerful kick in the knee, making Baelzor tumble as he lost his balance.
Melina generated a massive ice spike the size of a car and launched it at the devil’s face, but Baelzor was able to catch it with one hand before it could stab him and gripped it tightly to shatter it.
The devil waved his massive arm in an arch, producing a shockwave that destroyed the buildings around them, only to be met by Nessa, who used a fair amount of demonic energy to punch him in the ribs.
Nonetheless, Baelzor took the hit on purpose and used the opening to stab the pink-haired devil in the chest with his claws, impaling her down to the ground.
Nessa held the claws that went through her body, using all of her strength to push them back as blood came out of her mouth.
"Why do you keep fighting for the humans!? This whole world could be ours... Nessa!" Baelzor shouted with frustration, trying to push his claws deeper into the pink-haired devil.
*Tch!* Nessa scoffed, still struggling against the claws with more blood dripping from her mouth. "You wouldn’t get it..." she commented.
Suddenly, Baelzor felt a massively powerful torrent of MP surging behind him, diverting the devil’s attention away from his pink-haired opponent.
"Heh... Screw you, Baelzor," said Nessa with a cheeky smile, contrasting with the bruises and blood stains on her face.
"Get your filthy hands off my friend..." Melina’s voice could be perfectly heard by Baelzor, even though the woman was whispering.
When the devil turned around and released his claws from Nessa’s chest, the giant took a cautionary step back, feeling the MP flowing from the princess to be highly threatening.
