My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World-Chapter 407: A Heated Battle in the Freezing Lands
Chapter 407: A Heated Battle in the Freezing Lands
After Drakzen tried taunting me using my past father, my body experienced gravity awakening once again.
This time, however, I managed to create my own awakened weapon from my bo, which was a staff with a purple electrical orb on top.
The pressure that surrounded my body pushed even the tiniest molecule away from me, not letting a speck of dust or snow go through the gravity barrier.
I could see the powerful purple aura oozing from my body, and as I kept examining my hands, I sensed Drakzen approaching me at high speeds in the air.
Calmly, I raised my bo and pointed the orb at the devil, releasing an invisible shock wave that was directed downwards, pushing Drakzen to the ground with force and producing a massive wake of dust and snow where he landed.
From the cloud of snow, a couple of red, crystalized projectiles appeared flying towards me. Nevertheless, they couldn’t breach my gravity barrier, getting redirected to the sides as soon as they got a few feet away from me.
*Sigh* Drakzen tiredly exhaled.
"Fine..." he muttered, releasing even more demonic energy into the air.
Drakzen’s muscles and horns seemed to get slightly bigger. Even his claws had gotten longer and were constantly dripping small doses of blood that he used to coat them in.
I was expecting him to attack, but seeing that he wasn’t moving, I took the initiative and launched myself at the devil, repelling everything around me.
However, when I got closer to the ground, I saw a thick wall rise and pass through my gravity barrier, causing me to crash against it.
Normally, I would have gone through the wall without trouble, but Drakzen’s spell was powerful enough to halt me, even in an awakened state.
’Earth magic...?’ I pondered.
"Would you look at that...? It seems I can also make a familiar contract," Drakzen commented from the other side of the rock wall.
At that moment, I looked up into the sky and saw Fuego still fighting against his brother, their battle producing loud explosions and shaking the earth every few seconds.
When the Rock Dragon opened his wings, demonic circles appeared around him, shooting massive shadow beams at Fuego, which he skillfully avoided.
Still, whenever each of those beams hit the ground, it would create a massive explosion, so I had to be careful not to get caught up in their attacks.
’The dragon is casting shadow magic... This guy really made a contract with the dead beast...’ I thought.
Creating a familiar contract with a beast didn’t necessarily allow you to use their skills, but it could help you improve them. However, Drakzen had somehow mastered earth magic, so I deduced they must have made that contract a long time ago.
Suddenly, I felt a surge of demonic energy coming from the ground near me, making me step back quickly as large spikes appeared, trying to impale me.
Following the spikes, Drakzen launched himself at me with his blade in hand, using his earth spells to break through my gravity barrier.
As I waved my staff to the side, a massive wave of gravity razed all of the spikes and walls he erected, flinging the devil along into a small hill.
I followed my attack with another approach, stabbing the bottom of my staff in the location where he landed and obliterating the entire hill. Unfortunately, Drakzen moved after crashing, avoiding the invisible explosion.
Drakzen tried to slice me with his blade, but he was seemingly having trouble going through the barrier around me. Still, I had to use my staff to defend, or his attacks would eventually reach me.
While clashing our weapons with a barrage of dozens of attacks, I used the bottom of my staff to hit Drakzen in the chin, launching him high into the air.
Just as he regained his control mid-air, I followed it up with another attack, smashing my staff’s orb on the top of his head and producing a bit of blood to come out of his mouth.
*Shink!* I felt a stinging pain on my back, making me release more gravity magic around me to push whatever was hurting me away.
*Shink, shink!* I heard two more stabs behind me, giving me a shoulder ache that made me grit my teeth.
When I noticed what was attacking me, I saw small particles of blood floating in the air, and I instantly knew what was happening.
Drakzen was using his blood magic to create extremely tiny blood projectiles, and they were so small that I could barely detect them with my MP.
My gravity barrier was repelling almost anything from getting close to me, but Drakzen was adding a ton of force to each of his mini projectiles to allow them to go through.
I wasn’t going to die from getting stung a few times, but if he kept that up for hundreds of attacks, it would eventually have an effect on me.
As Drakzen and I continued with our onslaught of attacks against each other high in the air, the two dragons passed by in between us, releasing waves of lava and large rocks that we had to avoid.
During all of this ordeal, I still had my backpack holding Fuego’s dragon egg, which made the encounter a bit trickier since I felt like I had to protect the egg while also trying not to die myself.
I could feel the egg producing a bit of MP any time that Fuego cast a spell or shot out lava from his mouth, but I thought that was common since it was his own egg.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain all throughout my body that made me stop for a brief moment.
"Heh..." Drakzen smirked, instantly appearing beside me and shooting a shadow projectile that pushed me back to the ground.
’What’s happening...!?’ I thought, realizing that my body was getting harder and harder to move.
"You should be careful with what goes inside your body, Ichiro..." Drakzen commented.
