My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World-Chapter 420: The Obsidian Wall of G’Henna

After talking with the dwarves commanding the World Titan, I left the control room and flew towards the massive obsidian walls that blocked our path to G’Henna.

Since the titan was still quite far from the wall, it took me almost twenty minutes of flying at high speeds to reach it.

When I landed on the top of the wall, I noticed it had a thickness of about 6 to 7 meters, so it wasn’t a structure that normal mining tools could break. Still, that wasn’t the most shocking feature of the wall.

’It feels strange to stand here...’ I thought, making me realize that the wall seemed to have anti-magic properties.

I could still cast spells, but I couldn’t use all of my energy on them. Moreover, the wall wouldn’t change its shape after I tried to use magic to lower a part of it, so my plan of using magic to get rid of the structure wouldn’t work.

As I walked to the inner edge of the wall, I was quite impressed at the view of G’henna. I saw small islands sharing the same obsidian ground, and they were pretty close to each other.

Further away from the wall, a massive landmass could be seen with a few small hills on its shore, so I assumed that was where the supposed castle of the devil king was. Still, I was too far away to see any demonic activity.

Honestly, I thought the place would look nice if it weren’t entirely infested by devils, and when I saw the ocean water in the inner part of the wall, I came up with another theory.

’The water on the inside of the wall seems to be about the same depth as the water outside...’ I thought.

After checking that my eyes weren’t lying to me, I jumped down from the wall to the inner side of G’Henna with the intention of diving into the water below.

With my feet not touching the obsidian wall, I could feel my magic coursing through my body again, so I cast an air spell to create a wind dome around me, allowing me to breathe and move faster underwater.

Right after I dived, I noticed the wall cast a large shadow that made it even harder to see underwater, so I produced a small mote of light with magic and dropped it to the bottom of the sea.

As the glowing orb traveled down near the wall, I sensed a current that was a little over twenty meters below, prompting me to get closer to check it out.

’A tunnel!’ I thought.

Everything started to make more sense at that moment. The walls prevented anyone on the outside from entering the small continent, but the devils who raised the wall knew very well that they couldn’t completely deprive themselves of the sea.

There were no openings on the surface of the wall, but there were large tunnels underwater, which is how the water level stayed the same on both sides of the wall.

Humans in this world would find it troublesome to go through those tunnels without any magic or equipment, but I figured that some devils could easily go through them if they wanted to leave the continent.

After swimming through the tunnel to make sure it reached both sides, I resurfaced outside the wall’s boundaries, where Ovi was waiting for me, flapping his wings a few feet above the water.

"I’ll send Melina a message..." I muttered to myself, taking out my voice crystal from my void pocket.

When I explained the whole situation to her, I instantly received a reply message in which she said she had an idea.

Melina’s plan was to use magic to raise the water level around our boats, stopping the currents and having them float on a massive wave while the World Titan destroyed the wall.

"Hmmm..." I hummed as I pondered about her plan.

"Alright, I’ll let the dwarves know that we are prepared for them to keep advancing. I’ll fly to the boats as soon as I’m done with that," I said on the voice crystal, turning my body around and flying back to the titan’s head.

After opening the heavy hatch on the back of the titan’s head and entering the command room, I explained to the King and the dwarven engineers our plan to take down the wall safely.

Now that we knew that there would be no repercussions with the water level, they were clear to break it down however they saw fit. Still, I asked them to be careful.

"You heard ’im, boys! Let’s get this titan crankin’!" Shouted one of the dwarven engineers, prompting the others to get back to their posts.

Right after I left the titan’s body and began flying back to the boats, I heard a loud boom the moment the massive structure took one step forward, which made me a little nervous.

I mean, I knew that the titan was on our side, of course. But having such a massive humanoid figure walking behind me felt a bit eerie.

When I saw all of our boats in the distance, I noticed that the water level around them had risen at least thirty meters from the usual level, and all of the ships were floating above the massive wave, which didn’t move from its spot.

Hovering over the wave, Melina had her arms extended, using her magic to make the wave even taller and keep it from moving forward with the current.

When Melina first told me about her plan, I didn’t really expect that she would make all of the ships ride an unmoving tsunami in the middle of the ocean, but now that she had put her plan in motion, all I could do was assist her.

As I flew beside her and began using magic to help her keep the tsunami from moving, we looked forward, and we could see the World Titan’s frame standing behind the other side of the wall’s ring, placing one hand on the edge of the wall and gripping it tightly.
