My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World-Chapter 421: The Primal Demon
Chapter 421: The Primal Demon
The moment that the World Titan placed its massive hand on the edge of the obsidian wall, it gripped it tightly and dug its fingers into the rock before pulling back and shattering a piece of it like cardboard.
The force of the tug altered the ocean water, so Melina and I had to stay focused to keep the tall wave that was holding our ships from going back down.
I could tell that the dwarves were testing the titan’s strength, and now that they knew they could easily break the wall, the titan lifted one of its arms up in the air and slammed it down with its fist closed.
The side of the wall began to crumble into a thousand pieces, and the impact from the titan’s fist created a shockwave that reached all the way to our location, making the ocean currents even more violent.
"This is... quite a sight," I muttered to Melina, who was hovering beside me, channeling her magic into the water.
I had seen many incredible things in this world filled with magic, but seeing a robot the size of a mountain destroying a massive wall was one of the most impressive things I had witnessed.
As the titan banged on the wall a few more times, Melina and I struggled for a moment to keep the wave above the water level. However, when the massive robot crossed through the wall with its leg and entered the inside of G’Henna, we knew that its job was over.
The wall that covered the continent of G’Henna had the shape of a ring, and the titan had destroyed the southern part of the ring, while most of our ships were located on the western, eastern, and northern sides, which meant that we would have to go around to go through the hole left by the titan.
Suddenly, a beam of black light shot up into the sky, and the source of the beam seemed to come from the inside of the walls.
As the beam reached higher, it broke open the clouds and turned the skies red above the continent, with a swirling vortex of black clouds surrounding it.
The amount of demonic energy that the beam generated was astounding, as both Melina and I could feel the eerieness while being hundreds of kilometers away.
"Ichi...?" Melina muttered, questioning what we were seeing.
"I don’t know..." I replied, sharpening my gaze and preparing myself for the worst.
When the titan saw the black beam shooting up into the sky, it took a few steps forward as if it was trying to destroy the area where it was coming from, but before the titan could reach it, the beam of light dissipated, and another massive creature started to form right in front of the robot.
It only took a few seconds for the monster to materialize. It had the shape of a greater demon, with pitch-black skin, glowing red eyes, two long horns on its forehead, and shadowy claws.
Still, it wasn’t its shape that was the most frightening feature, but the sheer size of the monster, who was just slightly shorter than the titan.
"It’s a Primal Demon!" Jackson shouted from the boat, which was the closest to me and Melina.
’A Primal Demon...?’ I thought.
Right as the massive demon finished materializing, it instantly charged at the titan and tackled it with its shoulder, prompting the two enormous beings to crash against the wall and fall into the ocean.
"Shit! Hold tight!" I shouted, seeing the titan slowly fall down on its back.
*BOOM!* a deafening sound echoed all around us as the titan’s fall raised a vast curtain of water and completely altered the currents of the ocean, making them almost entirely untraversable.
’Are the dwarves okay!?’ I pondered, feeling worried about the engineers and the dwarven king who were manning the titan.
Suddenly, the two colossal beings resurfaced from the ocean, with the titan holding the demon’s arm and punching it in the face. Once again, their impacts generated shockwaves that reached our location.
Initially, I thought we should wait for the titan and the primal demon to finish their fight, but when I noticed that the titan was slowly driving the demon away from the continent, I realized that the dwarves were trying to make space for us.
"Let’s start moving!" I shouted, and the soldiers in the boats below me let out a roar and held their weapons in the air.
Still, we couldn’t lower the wave and have them row to the hole in the wall. Considering that the waters were turbulent, we would lose too many soldiers before even entering the continent.
Using our magic to maintain the tall tsunami with the ships on top of it, Melina and I began moving it closer to the walls, deviating slightly to the side as we needed to go around the ring.
It took a lot of our MP to keep the tsunami tall and move it along with the boats. Even so, we managed to move them closer to the hole in the wall and go through it before lowering it down, which flooded the small islands inside the continent’s perimeter.
Luckily, no people lived on those islands, or I would’ve felt guilty about destroying their homes.
From the armies that we managed to get inside the continent, we had the Sephyr Kingdom knights, the soldiers from the Droman Empire with Empress Lyssandra, the soldiers from Aridonia, the beastkin from Kalusia, and the Vikings from the north.
The rest of our forces were still outside the wall, and since they were located on the complete opposite side of where the titan had broken through, they either had to travel around the continent to reach it or look for another way inside.
Melina used her voice crystal to send a message to Yuki, the princess of Kyotora, and she replied by saying that the currents had gotten a bit more violent on their side, but they were still trying to advance into G’Henna.
It could easily take them a whole day to travel around the continent, and we didn’t know what would happen in that time since the titan and the primal demon were still fighting in the ocean.
At that moment, I received a message on my crystal from Sage Astra, the headmaster of the Mages’ Tower, and she said that she had a plan to mobilize the ships on her side.
If it had been any other person telling me that, I would have asked for more details to make sure they wouldn’t do something stupid. However, Sage Astra was probably one of the most cunning people I had met in this world, so I trusted her judgment and told her to go ahead without questioning her plan.
