Chapter 409: More Kisses

After talking to Laura, Dani took her leave and promptly returned to where she left Abel. She didn’t want Abel to get suspicious of her movements; after all no one still knew about Laura’s existence let alone about her being one of their spies before Mineah and Nikolai’s wedding.

"These things could’ve been easily prevented if I had paid enough attention to Rosela," Abel drunkenly murmured the moment she sat back on her chair. "And personally..."

She hated that downcast look on him. ’Why is he blaming himself? Seriously. I can’t believe this!’ she annoyingly mused.

"Well, I doubt that would be the case, Chancellor," Dani cut him off as she grabbed the nearest bottle and began drinking herself. "I’m sure, Lady Rosela would’ve just managed to manipulate you the moment she got you under her palm. You’re blindly in love with her, and she would’ve used that to her advantage."

She then sighed, "Ah, I know it’s not right to talk bad about the dead, so I’ll just stop now before we go around in circles about the same thing. I’ll simply call you a fool until you finally come to your senses..."

She downed another glass of beer as she silently watched Abel. She’d never been in love but she had heard a few stories of some people blinded by love and ended up getting their hearts broken. Zaila was one she was close with but then Zaila easily got over it after crying a few days. They would see her shift her swooning to a new man every now and then.

Abel continued drinking as if he was planning to get himself drunk.

"Will you be able to handle me if I get drunk? You brought me here against my will so it’s only natural for you to be responsible for me," Abel murmured in his low voice.

"Don’t worry and drink your heart out, Chancellor. I will take care of you," she teased. Abel chuckled and said, "That sounds good, Dani."

Her lips twitched as she snorted, "Just for tonight I will allow you to talk casually to me, Chancellor. Knowing what you’re going through, I will be patient and more understanding."

"Should I be thankful, then?" Abel scoffed before drinking more alcohol. Dani gulped as she looked at the empty bottles. It looked like Abel had already drunk a lot while she was gone and talking with Laura.

"Well, if you want my opinion then the answer is yes. That’s what I told you, remember?" Dani let out a heavy sigh and muttered, "What she did was something horrendous. Even to the last minute, she didn’t show any remorse for her actions. That kind of woman didn’t deserve...". She huffed and stopped before completing what she had to say.

Abel remained quiet so Dani wondered if she was being too tactless and insensitive. She mindlessly ended up drinking so much alcohol that she didn’t even realize that she had reached her maximum capacity.

"You’re too good for someone like R-rosela," she mumbled. Her words started slurring.

"I believe you don’t know me well enough to decide that I’m even a good person," Abel nonchalantly commented.

Dani chuckled and said, "Well, I s-imply trust my gut feeling, Chancellor. And my gut says that you’re too g-ood to end up with Rosela."

Abel creased his forehead as he stared at Dani. She was obviously drunk. Her face was very red and it was unlike her to smile at him as she was.

"How entertaining. I thought you’d take care of me but it looks like I’ll be the one to take care of you," Abel said as he watched Dani open another bottle of wine and then drink straight from it.

He drank way more than her but his tolerance was unbeatable... Well, he and his Scion Fritz were the same when it came to alcohol. No one can beat their high tolerance.

He frowned when Dani stood up. Her eyes were directed straight at him. She had this wide and playful smile as she stood near him.

"Hah! That Rosela is a bitch. Even I am better than her in every way! The only advantage she had against me was her height! She’s tall, and I’m... not! Other than that, she doesn’t hold a candle against me. Knowing that, any man should fall for me... Even you, Chancellor!" she hiccuped while saying that with a straight face.

Abel rapidly blinked at her because he was caught off guard by her straight-forward statement .

"And why are you comparing yourself to Rosela?" he curiously asked with an amused smile.

Dani blinked and then looked up as if thinking of an answer to his question.

"Right, y-you h-have a point. Why did I even c-compare myself to her? I shouldn’t since she’s not even in my league in terms of character. Hehe," she chuckled and tried to move when she swayed but Abel was quick to catch her before she fell.

"Opps... I a-apologize, Milord!" she murmured and giggled before finally sitting on his lap. She moved and was about to get up but Abel held her firmly on her waist.

Dani turned to look at him. She looked at him with her puppy eyes and rosy cheeks. "Oh... Such a handsome man are you!" she whispered and raised her hands to touch his face.

"You’re just a Curb but why do you look outstanding even compared to scions and pure-blooded vampires?" Dani murmured while she inspected his face. Abel simply let her touch his face.

"I like your gray hair and dark eyebrows. Right, I don’t even find your red eyes scary. And your lips..."

Abel let out a groan when Dani touched his lips. He was getting affected by her presence. He should be mourning Rosela’s death right now, so why was his body reacting to her shenanigans? This isn’t even the first time he’s feeling this way... Since the day Dani performed the damn spell on him... that brief kiss in an attempt to bite his lips and the small taste he got of her blood before sealing the spell...

"Damn, I feel like I’ll be in trouble if I won’t avoid you," he murmured as his eyes lingered on her innocent face before moving down to Dani’s parted lips.

He must admit that her lips had been haunting him for days, his focus had strayed away from Rosela. Since that spell, he had been rejecting Rosela’s intimate company.

"I must be crazy," Abel whispered as he instantly closed the remaining gap between their lips. He kissed her fiercely while Dani reciprocated with a sloppy one.

He couldn’t help but smile as he gently sucked her lower and upper lips alternately. It tasted good with hints of the wine she was drinking driving him even more wild. He groaned when Dani moved to straddle him, sitting comfortably on his lap. He was surprised but he had no intention of stopping since he liked how her warm body felt pressed against him.

He growled when Dani moved her hips, grinding herself against his hardness. ’Damn!’ Abel inwardly cursed because that movement was enough to almost make him cum. He was so hard that her actions were starting to feel like torture to him. What he was feeling right now was something strong and different. It was like he was already losing control. This had never happened to him before because he always managed to keep his calm until now...

He simply didn’t want to stop and just wanted to continue and do more with right now. He wanted to take her right there. She was so submissive that Abel simply wanted to go with the flow and give himself to this temptation in his arms.

But one thing was bugging him. Did Dani know what she was doing right now? Was she in her right mind? Because she looked like she was drunk and not herself. She has always been someone who seemed vexed around his presence so... Abel inwardly cursed because if that was the case then what he was doing now was not right. It was taking advantage of a drunk woman.

Against his will, Abel broke the kiss and gently pushed Dani. Both of them were panting as their eyes lingered on each other. Dani’s lips stretched wide as she mumbled, "That’s so good! Who would have thought that my first kiss would feel like this!"

"Dani, are you sober right now? Do you know what’s happening right now?" Abel asked with a serious face. He locked his gaze with hers as he waited for her answer.

Abel blinked when Dani grinned at him. "Let’s do it again. I want more kisses!" she excitedly said as she quickly cupped his face and leaned closer. Abel gulped because Dani didn’t answer his question.

"Oh... Ughhh... What’s this? I feel like my stomach is churning! What the he-"

Abel’s eyes widened and before he could react, he felt that warm liquid pouring down on his neck...
