The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 410: So Warm
Chapter 410: So Warm
Abel shook his head as he went into his mist form and took Dani straight to the private bath area in his bedchamber. He then called on some of his female servants and instructed, "Help her clean up and get changed."
Without so much as looking back, he then immediately went out and used one of his spare bedchambers to clean himself up in its own private privy.
"Damn," he murmured as he stripped naked and quickly cleaned himself up. He couldn’t believe this just happened. Never in his hundred years had he experienced something like this.
Still shaking his head, Abel took his time in the waters before quickly dressing up in his nightwear. By the time he went back to his bedchamber, Dani was already in the comfort of his bed. She was asleep, still clearly drunk and exhausted.
"Seriously, did you fall asleep instead of getting sober after they cleaned you up?" Abel mumbled as he sat and joined Dani on his bed.
Looking at her, he knew that he should just return her to her own bedchamber. However, he had the excuse of not knowing where exactly her bedchamber was located in the Queen’s quarters. And besides, Nikolai had placed strict security measures in the Queen’s residence recently. In addition, he was already so tired that he simply wanted to rest instead of doing much else. As such, he laid himself beside Dani who was currently sleeping soundly without a care in the world. She looked good in his tunic, and she was wearing nothing except that one tunic.
Abel gulped, inwardly cursing upon noting that description. He then shook his head, and he was about to get up to sleep in another bedchamber when Dani moved and hugged him tightly, snuggling her face comfortably on the crook of his neck. Not only that... she wrapped her legs around him as if he were a pillow.
Abel blinked before shrugging at his predicament. He could’ve easily gotten away by shifting into his mist form, but he didn’t know why he didn’t. Instead, he remained there, unmoving. He found the feeling of her body against him so warm and comforting, and it reminded him that it had been a while since he felt how warm a human body was. Rosela had already been turned into a Scion when he became intimately involved with her, and he had never been with any other woman except for her ever since his wife Ella died.
Rosela’s body wasn’t warm. She was cold like him.
"It feels good," he unknowingly whispered with a sigh as he stared at his ceiling. He was tempted to turn his head, but he knew he shouldn’t. Instead, he let out another frustrated sigh as he closed his eyes. It would be a long night for him for sure, and he could only hope that sleep would come to him sooner rather than later.

"Dani!"
Dani stirred the moment she heard Zaila’s familiar voice waking her up. Her awareness returning, she immediately sat up on the bed and placed her hand on her head.
"Zaila, please bring me some water..." she groaned. "I feel like my head’s about to explode. We should prepare for the morni-"
"Dani! Oh my goodness! Open your eyes and look at the mess you’re in right now!" Zaila hissed. "What on earth have you done?!" ƒrēenovelkiss.com
Dani frowned at Zaila’s voice. Her head was hurting, and she really didn’t want to get up at all. Still, she had duties to fulfill, so she swiftly opened her eyes and saw exactly what happened.
’What the hell is going on?’ she inwardly grimaced as her face paled the moment she looked around. Her gaze then landed on Abel, the man appearing just as bewildered as she was.
The memories of last night then quickly came to her. Right, she was with Abel last night, and the last thing she remembered was having a drink with him, so... Why was she on a bed inside an unfamiliar bedchamber? And what was the Queen and the Queen Mother doing inside the room as well? They were both frowning at her too.
Then, Dani looked down, her eyes promptly widening as she whispered in horror, "My dress..."
She was currently wearing a man’s tunic. Only a tunic and nothing else underneath it.
Immediately, her eyes narrowed as she glared at Abel. "You!" she hissed. "What did you do to me?!"
Abel blinked at the outburst, unable to form any words. Ignoring his nonreaction, Dani quickly felt her body over if something was wrong. Thankfully, it seemed that nothing happened between her and Abel like what the others in front of them were probably thinking.
"I... Nothin-"
"How dare you behave so vulgarly with Her Majesty’s ladies-in-waiting!" the Queen Mother chastised with a firm and authoritative tone. "You must take responsibility for your actions, Abel! Take her as your wife!"
Dani’s face paled as she looked at their Queen who was currently wearing a blank expression.
"Queen Mother, I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation for this," Queen Mineah tried to reason. "I know Dani well, and she would never-"
"This mess is not a matter to be taken lightly, unfortunately. Abel holds the esteemed position of Chancellor in this kingdom, and thus has a reputation to protect," the Queen Mother rebutted, her voice resolute. "I’m sure that by now, everyone in his residence already knows that he was with Lady Dani last night. Rumors might have already spread, and if you wish to protect your vassal’s chastity as a woman, this is the only way. These two should take responsibility for their reckless behavior!"
Amidst all this, Abel quickly responded, "I will marry her according to Ebodian tradition then. After that, I’ll perform the Coupling Rites as dictated by Valcrez law."
Dani’s eyes widened as she gasped at him. "No!"
And there she saw it: a smirk forming on Abel’s devious face as he answered, "Yes, Lady Dani... You should have seen this coming after everything that happened between us last night." He smugly scoffed, "You yourself declared that any man would fall for you including me. And now, here we are..."
Dani shook her head in denial. What was this man saying? This couldn’t be happening. She felt as if the air was being sucked out of the room, suffocating her... But before she could refute his words, a memory resurfaced in her mind.
’Hah! That Rosela is a bitch. Even I’m far better than her in every way! The only advantage she has against me is her height! She’s tall, and I’m... not! Other than that, she doesn’t hold a candle against me. Knowing that, any man should fall for me... Even you, Chancellor!’
