Chapter 413: All of Me

Dani couldn’t help but wonder if she did the right thing. Still, there was no going back now since she already agreed to Abel, thus making her relationship with him become official. Since then, every day became so busy for her that she ended up not thinking about her current situation.

Then, the Midnight Sun finally arrived, so they didn’t waste time and arranged their Queen’s transfer to the king’s palace together with Krisha and Zaila.

"Isn’t the king so sweet and thoughtful?" Zaila hummed as they watched their king and queen leave with their hands holding onto one another.

"Looks like our king has a surprise for our Queen," Krisha said in excitement. "We should take this opportunity to settle down in our new bedchambers. I heard they’re way more luxurious!"

Quietly, Dani followed behind the two as they checked their bedchambers. Then, the three of them promptly went to their designated meeting chamber.

"So this is where we’ll discuss confidential matters, right?" Zaila remarked as they inspected the gothic secret chamber. "The spell protecting this chamber looks to be very powerful."

The chamber was located by the end of the hallway on the first floor of the palace. But while they kept touring the place, Dani remained quiet, her mind wandering towards somewhere else. Surprisingly, a few days had already passed, but she and Abel hadn’t talked ever since their last conversation when he gave her an offer she agreed to.

"What’s with that expression? Are you already missing your future husband?" Zaila teased, to which Dani’s face reddened. She already gotten used to her friends teasing her for days, and she found it more convenient to just act nonchalantly and quietly to their words. The two would eventually stop after getting nothing out of her, but so far, that didn’t seem to be the case.

"You and your silence is so annoying," Zaila continued with a frown. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

Dani chuckled at Zaila’s expression. "Aren’t you tired of teasing me already?" she said with a grin. "Let’s just take care of our things already inside our bedchamber."

Leaving the two on their own, Dani then made her way to her bedchamber to have some rest. The moment she arrived, she smiled as she walked towards her own balcony to look up at the sky. Truly, seeing the midnight sun on the horizon in this cold winter season was so refreshing.

"I wonder how long this will last?" Dani sighed to herself.

"Hmm, let’s see... Maybe in less than thirty days this time?" Abel spoke, having suddenly appeared as if by magic. "Last year, it lasted for eighty days, but it happened during summer so... It happened this winter, and according to Lord Fritz, it will last around thirty days, as I’ve already said before."

Dani turned to him, the man already standing casually beside her.

"Can’t you at least knock? You’re invading my privacy," she grunted. "And did you really have to repeat yourself?"

Abel turned to her with a smile on his face. "But we’ll soon be united as husband and wife," he pointed out. "Although it’s only by name, don’t you think it’s only natural for the two of us to get to know each other more?"

"Knowing each other by barging inside each other’s private space?" she scoffed.

"I let you in my personal space, didn’t I?" he shrugged. "You even used my clothes."

Dani’s face turned crimson as she recalled that scene that until now, she still couldn’t remember how exactly she ended up like that. It was only fortunate that Abel’s gaze was currently on the horizon that he didn’t see how hard she was blushing.

"In my village, there’s this famous myth about the Midnight Sun. They say that it happens whenever a young maiden places seven flowers under her pillow on a midsummer night – the longest day of the year," he stated with a serious tone. "Then, her future fiance would show up in her dreams."

Dani turned her gaze back to the sun and jokingly said, "I didn’t collect flowers under my pillow like that young maiden. You also didn’t appear in my dreams. And yet you ended up being my fiance."

"Well, you drank a lot of alcohol..." Abel chuckled. "That’s how you ended up having me as your future husband."

Dani stared at Abel for the longest time without her even knowing it. He was smiling and chuckling, something that she didn’t expect him to do since he should technically still be mourning for Rosela.

As if sensing her intense gaze, Abel turned and caught her. "Am I handsome enough in your eyes?" he shamelessly asked.

"What?!" she burst out with a frown, trying her best to hide her embarrassment. She was probably beet red again compared to normal standards.

"Well, you didn’t even blink when you stared at me. Also, you told me that night how handsome I am," he boasted. "You said I look outstanding even compared to other scions and pure-blooded vampires. How you like my gray hair and dark eyebrows, and how you don’t find my red eyes scary, and how my lips-"

"Stop!!!" Dani exclaimed as she defended herself. "There’s no way I said that!"

Deep inside, however, she knew that what Abel said made sense. After all, that was what she truly felt about his physical appearance. Just exactly as that...

Her eyes widened. ’Did I really say those things?!’

This time, her face paled as a bit of her memories returned to her.

"I’ll go and leave you alone now, Dani. By the way, let’s talk more casually with each other whenever we’re alone like this. I just dropped by to check on you and see your new bedchamber in the palace, although it probably wouldn’t last long since you’ll soon be transferred to my residence as my new lady," he chuckled. "If you have some free time, please feel free to check your soon to be residence. Once we’re married and I marked you... all that is mine will officially belong to you... not only the material things of course, but it includes me as your husband... all of me."

Dani parted her lips, but no words came out. She blinked, and Abel had already disappeared before her.

"Is he playing on me right now?!" she exclaimed with a frown. But she then placed her hand on her chest and murmured, "What is wrong with my heart? Why is it thumping so fast?"
