The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 441: Wanted to Be Loved
Chapter 441: Wanted to Be Loved
"What’s wrong? Is it because of Rosela? I was just explaining why I haven’t seen Dahlia yet. I also want to tell you that I don’t have any unrequited love for Rosela," Abel insisted. "You see, I believed I was no longer capable of loving when I turned into a vampire. What I felt for Rosela was a great sense of responsibility because I...took her maidenhood."
"Let me go now. I want to leave this instant!" Dani barked out, using her spell against Abel. "Don’t hold me back or follow me!"
At her word, he quickly released her. She then turned around and quickly left. The spell still had an effect on him, so he still felt it whenever she used it against him. Unfortunately, Fritz was unable to break the spell completely, only managing to take away the pain whenever he refused to follow Dani’s command. Still, he was glad for it since it was enough for this thrall chaining spell not to hold him back.
Taking a step forward, he moved to follow her. He wanted to follow Dani and ask her why she was acting like this when he just wanted to clarify things about Rosela and Dahlia. He just didn’t want her to misunderstand the situation and make the mistake of pushing him away to Dahlia.
"Abel."
But before he could move, Nikolai suddenly appeared before him. His face was dim enough that it looked as if he was ready to kill someone.
"What’s wrong?" Abel inquired.
"I want a gruesome death for Haman. He’ll make a move soon in the province of Sar, and from there we’ll proceed as planned for the trial," Nikolai grunted with killing intent. "Make the necessary preparations. He’ll die in the Cage of Hell."
"I understand," he answered.
From there, Nikolai discussed a lot of things with him, leaving him unable to follow Dani. Left with no other choice, he decided to just let her be for the night and probably talk to her some other time to clear things up.

After having dinner at Abel’s residence that night and talking about his inability to love, Dani was grateful that she had made enough space away from Abel.
Both of them became busy with a lot of things. Days passed, and a lot had happened in the kingdom of Valcrez. One of them was Krisha and Taro’s whirlwind romance that truly blew them away. No one had seen that one coming. In fact, Taro had already marked Krisha, and their wedding ceremony at Ebodia was about to happen first before her’s and Abel’s wedding.
Well, as long as Krisha was happy with it, then she and the rest of her friends were ready to support her. What then followed was something that shook the whole kingdom. It was Minister Haman’s kidnapping attempt on their Queen. But then, it turned out that their King was already aware of it and just used the opportunity to take the man down.
Currently, Dani simply watched beside their Queen while Abel led the trial against Haman and all his accomplices. She couldn’t even look at the horrendous fate that Haman faced for his crimes. He was stripped of his exordium blood before being gruesomely executed.
"Ahhhhh!!! Mother help me!!!"
Haman’s screams of pain echoed across the entire area of execution as bugs and vermin feasted on his flesh while he was inside the cage protected by a powerful spell. He was eaten alive in a slow and agonizing way until not even his bones remained. Still, the man deserved it, so she didn’t feel even the slightest pity for him.
And at that, the king made himself clear to everyone as he spoke. "Let this be a lesson to those that dare to harm this kingdom! Near or far, weak or powerful, there will be nothing that can protect you from the reach of the law!" he declared with a loud bellow. "Should you be proven guilty, you shall be given your due punishment in accordance with the severity of your crime! This is the fate of those who dare to cross the Crown! To those that wish harm upon this kingdom! To whoever wants to do such things, go ahead, but know that nothing will save you once you’re caught and proven guilty of your crimes!"
Dani quickly turned when she heard the queen gasp. She was holding onto her chest with her eyes closed as if she was having a hard time breathing.
"Milady, are you alright?" she worriedly inquired.
But before the Queen could answer, King Nikolai was already there to carry her away, both of them disappearing before Dani’s eyes.
Lord Gregory, who was beside her, said, "Don’t worry, His Majesty said that he will take care of the Queen, so you don’t need to rush out and see her."
"Alright," Dani said in understanding.
From there, Zaila arrived to tell her something, and she noticed how she blatantly ignored Lord Gregory for some reason.
"Can you give it to her, Lady Dani?" Gregory asked her as he handed her a pouch.
Dani frowned. "Why me? Why not give it to her directly?" she asked. "Are you two fighting?"
If she recalled, Gregory was one of Zaila’s suitors. She didn’t know what was happening, and she had no plans to get involved with any of this.
Gregory just scratched his head and said, "We just had some misunderstandings, but can you tell her that my feelings for her just grew even deeper?"
Dani shrugged as she scowled, "No, tell that to her yourself. I’m leaving now. Talk to Zaila directly, Lord Gregory."
She would’ve loved to stay since Abel looked like he would do so for the cleanup with Lord Fritz, but she had no reason to do so. As such, she simply left. Besides, she didn’t want to get entangled with Zaila and her suitors. This time, it was Lord Gregory, but last week, it was Admiral Sixto. She had a feeling that Lord Milo and even Governor Andro would come seeking her or Krisha because of Zaila at this rate.
"What’s with her acting available and playing hard to get?" Dani mumbled as she walked. It seemed like what Zaila was doing was very effective, however, seeing as men were all flocking around her for some reason.
Dani let out a heavy sigh. She still felt disappointed after Abel told her that he believed he was no longer capable of love. What was he even saying? A lot of vampires were capable of love, and she definitely wanted to be loved by any means!
