The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 614: Alpha Zeus’s help
Chapter 614: Alpha Zeus’s help
"Sir, we have gotten the information," Lucas walked inside Sebastian’s office near the royal cottage and kingdom, making the man look up from the pile of documents he was sitting with.
Along with him, eight more men were sitting in the room as they sorted out all the information they received from everywhere to connect links to what more these human rogues were planning.
"Information about what?" Sebastian asked as he nodded at his men to continue their search.
"We are not entirely sure if the head of the human council and his son, Aditya, are involved, but some men from the main council team are indeed involved. The spies we had sent had gotten some factual data that we can use against the humans to defy the peace treaty," Lucas said.
Sebastian nodded.
That was his plan. The last time when they had gone to fight with the rogues, he suspected that the ammunition those rogues were using weren’t things that they could smuggle easily.
The last battle was an eye-opener that maybe they have been thinking and working on it all wrong. It wasn’t just about human rogues. It was about the entire species.
Those human bloodlines who stay low, apart from the hunger bloodline alone, were also helping those rogues. And when it came to attack from their side, they would hide behind the peace treaty.
Sebastian knew if he talked about this matter with his grandfather and council without any concrete proof, the elders might start talking about those superstitions about one of the Prince bringing doom upon the vampire Kingdom once again.
More importantly, some elders were still angry and disappointed about him becoming the king when they clearly supported and voted for Stephano. Thus, it was even more important to go with proof.
"That’s great. If possible, ask those spies to gather some photos of those council members meeting with the human rogues," Sebastian paused.
"Also, this time, it’s not just about humans and vampires. Some witches are on their side, and the moon goddess forbids it, maybe Prince Angelo is on their side too. Ask them to stay alert and immediately evacuate the site if they feel someone is watching them," Sebastian whispered to Lucas, who nodded and left the office.
Sebastian fell deep in thought.
Things weren’t working in their favour. Not only do they have to be cautious about their words in front of the elders, but they have to be cautious of their actions too.
Prince Stephano was too family-oriented to suspect anyone easily.
After becoming the King, it wasn’t easy for him to keep everyone’s opinion in mind while working, especially when everyone’s gaze was on him, ready to find issues with his ruling methods.
Sebastian sighed and was about to turn around when he saw the car of one person that he didn’t want to meet.
She really couldn’t wait, could she?
"Elder sister," Sebastian’s voice immediately turned hard as he looked at his sister, who acted like she owned the place and walked directly inside, making him want to throw her out already.
He could see a headache coming just by her presence.
"What brings you here at MY office?" Sebastian emphasized the word ’my’ just to remind her that this wasn’t the royal palace where she could move without anyone’s permission in the name of being a part of the family.
"I came to check what you were doing. I tried calling your subordinates, but they said you were too busy to talk to me. That’s why I thought I would rather honour you with my presence," Scarlet said as she kept walking.
However, as she reached the place where his men were looking at all the documents to connect the dots and incidents, Sebastian stopped her.
"I don’t want to be honoured by a useless presence. It would be better if you leave on your own accord and don’t force me to resort to throwing you out," Sebastian said, his voice cold and void of emotions.
This matter wasn’t the only thing he needed to attend. His wife was alone there with the witches, and he needed to be with her too.
Hearing Sebastian’s words, Scarlet’s expression immediately changed.
"Throw me out? Is this the way to talk to your elder sister, Sebastian? Aren’t you being a bit too ungrateful -"
"Ungrateful for what? I don’t remember you playing any significant role in my life that I should be grateful for. However, there are indeed many incidents that I can remind you where you should be ashamed of yourself. Elder sister? Are you sure you behaved like one in my life?" Sebastian asked.
Scarlet pressed her lips into a thin line. She could see that Sebastian was in no mood to talk to her, and she sighed dejectedly.
"When will you let go of the past, Sebastian? Why is it that you have forgiven everyone but -" Scarlet started, but Sebastian just turned around, making her pause in her words.
"Fine. I guess you are too busy at the moment. Anyway, I just came to tell you that if you need any help from me and my in-laws, we are ready to help you. This isn’t about just you and your wife. It’s about the entire kingdom," Scarlet placed her hand on his shoulders, her gaze shifting to that one room where Sebastian didn’t allow her to go one last time before she left.
As soon as Sebastian saw the car leaving, he heaved a sigh of relief before turning around, his gaze meeting with Ambrose.
"Do you think I was too harsh just now, Ambrose?" Sebastian asked.
Ambrose didn’t say anything for a few seconds before he shook his head.
"It’s good to be wary of people around us, Sir. I have learnt it from you, and so far, I haven’t regretted it even once. Those who are genuine will stay no matter what. Besides, Mrs. Scarlet’s sudden interest in these matters right from the time Prince Angelo indeed looks suspicious like you mentioned earlier," Ambrose said, and Sebastian walked back to his room.
Seeing the missed call from an unknown number, Sebastian furrowed his brows before calling the number.
"Hello?" Sebastian asked in his neutral voice.
"It’s me, Alpha Zeus," The alpha of the Red Moon pack said, and Sebastian looked at the private number before humming.
"Now that your doubts have cleared that we weren’t involved, what else do you want from us?" Sebastian asked, his voice and words crisp.
Alpha Zeus sighed.
"I understand your hostility towards us, King Sebastian. We were indeed in the wrong this time. The reason I called is to express my gratitude. Because your brother found our people and sent them to the medical team, twenty-one people were saved. And just like you had said, they described everything that happened," Alpha Zeus said.
Sebastian hummed.
He had yet to understand what else this alpha wanted from him.
"That’s great. Better take care of them and save yourself from future controversies. In fact, I would advise you to lay low for some time until this matter is solved. The humans won’t stop at anything to use your lands, and if you want to stand against us, let us know," Sebastian said. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
Alpha Zeus didn’t say anything for a few seconds. It was almost as if he was contemplating something.
Hearing no noise from the other side, Sebastian was about to end the call when Alpha Zeus said something that took him by surprise.
"We want to help you," Alpha Zeus said.
"Help us?" Sebastian asked, his stance more relaxed now that he grasped what the alpha wanted to say from the beginning.
"Yes. Our pack didn’t want to get involved in the fight. However, those humans made a mistake by trying to deceive us. My pack members are angry about all the people we lost and how condescending this entire situation was. Since we have common enemies, I want to join hands with you," Alpha Zeus said.
"Can you elaborate?" Sebastian said.
"What I am trying to say is that you can use our lands to attack those human rogues who live near our pack. What human rogues? They are clearly aided by those human bloodlines and even the emperor of the kingdom. They just want to use the rogue term to have things done their way. So that they can affirm and attack you guys from behind the peace treaty," Alpha Zeus said.
Sebastian couldn’t help but feel amused when he heard the alphas’ words.
"How can I believe you, Alpha Zeus? The animosity between the werewolves and vampires isn’t new. Not to mention, don’t you guys firmly believe that humans should be protected because they are a lower species? What if you guys betray us when we are on your lands? Do you think I will let go of the things and have my people suffer?" Sebastian asked, and Alpha Zeus sighed.
"I knew you would say those words. That’s why I offer a treaty from my side," Alpha Zeus said as he looked at the wolf on his left side, who was nodding at him.
"A treaty that is to be signed between me and your wife," He said, his words making Sebastian stand from his place.
"What did you say?" He seethed through his teeth, ready to kill the alpha despite the consequences just for mentioning his wife.
