Chapter 619: Who got freed?

Near the caves where the witch’s magic was useless and Azrael was captured, one of the guards looked to his left side when he heard the shuffling again.

"Who’s there?" He asked, stepping forward with furrowed brows, nodding at all the other guards to stay alert.

"Go and check who it is. We have had enough of this drama -" The guards stopped speaking when they saw their king, Sebastian, walking out of the forest.

"Sir -" Tyson started, his eyes widening when he saw someone shooting their King from behind.

Grrrrr!

Their king growled in agony before he rushed back inside the forest to fight the people.

Everyone stood around alert, unsure of what to do.

"Is... Is that an army of witches?" They asked as they saw around 100 witches standing at some distance, but what surprised them, even more, was the fact that a group of witches was beating their King terribly with their wands while he growled in agony.

"What should we do?" The other guard said, and Tyson gulped.

"I don’t know. All I know is that we were asked to not move from our posts and let anyone enter the caves," Tyson said.

"Let no one enter the caves, but let our King die? Have you lost your mind?" The guards said as they rushed towards the witches to save their king from these pathetic species.

It was strange how these witches were able to hurt their king when everyone knew that he was immune to witch powers.

Tyson looked around, unable to comprehend what he should do before he took out his cell phone to call Lucas.

He kept dialing Luca’s number again and again, but Lucas was already speaking to someone over the call.

"Is this what I have raised you for so long for? Help me!" They heard their King screaming for help and the little resolution and doubt they had left in their hearts immediately vanished as they rushed toward the forest to save their king.

Tyson also immediately rushed forward, baring his fangs at the witches as he elongated his nails, scratching the faces of the witches who were hurting their king.

The vampires started fighting the witches from out of the forest, sure that the witches wouldn’t be able to use their magic.

However, after some time, something caught Tyson’s eye.

A glitch. Their king’s face almost blurred and glitched. It was almost as if he was...

Tyson’s eyes widened as he understood what was happening. He looked down and his heart thumped.

He was almost standing on the other side of the line.

"Guys, this is a trap," Tyson said before he started to rush towards the other side of the line where the witch’s magic was useless.

However, it was too late for them to realize.

The witches’ plan has already worked.

"But sir -" Tyson started as he looked at their King who was beaten black and blue.

The sense and primal urge to protect their boss was still taking over him, and he wanted to protect their boss even if he had to lay down his life for it.

"Sir? Where is he?" The witches asked as they laughed in the guards’ faces, enjoying the uneasiness on their enemies’ faces.

Tyson looked at the witch in horror as they saw the person, who they thought was their king, turning into a female.

So that was the reason, this witch acting as their boss never crossed this line. Tyson realized what happened and guilt washed over him.

He looked at his other friends who had the same expression on their faces.

They failed. Their boss had entrusted them to keep the witch safe and out of the reach of other witches, but they couldn’t do it.

Even after their boss warned them that the witches would try to use every cunning method they could to get their boss out, and they needed to stay put in their positions, they still moved and got trapped in the illusion the witches created.

"Now what are we going to do with you? Do you want to call your real boss and tell him what’s happening here?" The witch laughed at Tyson who gritted his teeth.

One of the guards who was standing in the back, took out his phone and dialed the number on the speed dial, the number immediately called Lucas, who was still talking to someone.

"Oh, aren’t we being a bit too sneaky here?" The witch grabbed his phone, making the vampires grit their teeth as the phone melted right in front of them.

"Karina, we don’t have so much time to waste. Let’s get this over with already," one of the witches said, and the others nodded.

In reality, there were only twenty witches, and they had created the illusion of around 100 witches to scare the guards and make it look realistic that it was because there were so many witches that their king was not able to fight back and was getting beaten black and blue.

"Let’s go," The witches said before they clicked their hands, and just like that, all the vampires were thrown on the ground with their hands and legs tied with silver chains and a gag in their mouths, their bodies tied to the trees.

"We could’ve killed you in a second for calling us pathetic, but we will leave that job for our boss. After all, she would need some blood bath after coming out of that damned place, no?" The witches asked as they scoffed at the guard’s faces before walking to the caves where their magic was useless, immediately making them feel the pressure.

"How will we open the lock? Bring the keys from the guard," Karina said to one of the witches, who immediately rushed to the guards to get the keys.

As soon as they got the keys, they walked inside the cave.

Normally, a few guards would’ve been guarding the place from inside, but since it was lunchtime, everyone was out, going to their positions after some time.

However, who had thought that the witches would attack so abruptly? It only meant one thing. All these times they heard those noises in the deeper side of the forest, the witches were observing their activities closely.

As soon as Azrael saw her witches entering the cave, a vibrant smile immediately appeared on the usual pale face, and she walked to the bars of the cell.

"Quickly open this damned prison," Azrael said, her eyes beaming as she saw Karina placing the key in the lock.

The sound of the lock opening immediately filled Azrael with joy, and she walked out of the prison, stretching her hands before looking at Karina and nodding at her.

"You guys did a really good job today. I am proud of you. Tell me what exactly happened," Azrael said as she walked out of the caves, her gaze shifting to the tied vampires at the side of the forest.

She smirked.

These were the same vampires who used to mock her when she used to cry because of all those nightmares at night and darkness.

Azrael walked towards the vampire guards in long yet slow strides.

"How does it feel to be helpless and unable to do anything?" She asked before she bent and pulled out the gag from Grey’s mouth.

"F*ck you, witch. Do you think just because you have some tricks up your sleeves, you won? Our process and King caught you once. It won’t be long for them to catch you again. You just brace yourself for the future. Do you really think you have won? What a joke," Grey said as he glared at the witch, who smiled evilly.

"It’s funny. Did you guys not beat them properly? Why are they still able to talk like that in front of me? It’s not making me feel good," Azrael pressed her lips into a thin line, and as soon as she said those words, the witches stepped forward and started beating the vampires.

Seeing the vampires in almost beaten form, Azrael smiled and looked at Tyson.

"Well, under normal situations, I don’t really leave any witnesses of my work. But seeing how you guys didn’t particularly make things hard for me, I am going to let you guys live," Azrael said before she turned to Karina.

"Why have you not started speaking already? How did you do everything?" Azrael asked.

Karina immediately started telling their boss what they did. Starting from having Prince Angelo kidnap that mute princess to having her husband beaten almost to death, and sending those rogue vampires to the southern suburbs, she mentioned everything they used to distract everyone before they came here to act on what they had in mind.

Azrael nodded in appreciation.

"You guys are learning really well under my guidance. What is this? Am I creating more of my like people?" Azrael chuckled.

"Ari is with Elliana, mam. She has gone there to seek refuge and have them help her free queen Arizona from your traps," Karina added and Azrael hummed.

"Well, in that case, I should get Ari under my wings first, no? After all, if they found out the hidden potential of that girl and joined hands with her, things would be difficult for me, no?" Azrael said and everyone nodded in understanding.
