Chapter 631: War preparations

"Elliana, we got good news," Nathaniel appeared right in front of Elliana as she stood there in her fighting attire, training her woman team that was going to participate in the battle with her.

It has been a week since she announced the war, and all the species in the world were informed about it.

They knew how many powerful people were joining forces with Azrael because it wasn’t just about taking Elliana down but about the vampire kingdom too.

They were no less in comparison so far. Elliana also gave everyone in her team a free choice to fight the battle with her at the risk of death.

As much as she was sure she would create a shield on them to protect them from major fatalities, she wasn’t capable enough to protect everyone.

To her surprise, even when they weren’t really capable of fighting one of the hardest and coldest wars in history, they were ready to put their all, and that was enough for Elliana to know though she couldn’t gather family love those years, she definitely grew a loyal community of hers.

That was why for the past week, they had been gathering different groups of people on their side to devise plans and the attacking techniques since they didn’t know what exactly was going to happen that day.

They would gather the teams, have meetings, discuss their strategies, train their soldiers, gather more people, and try to train Elliana’s powers separately as her siren powers were quiet for some time, and then at night Elliana and Sebastian would spend their time together.

That was their daily routine.

"What good news?" Elliana asked as she nodded at the team to continue practicing before walking to the side.

"Leila is awake," Nathaniel said, and Elliana, who was washing her hands, paused in her actions and looked at him. freewebnøvel.coɱ

"How is she?" Elliana asked, her expression not giving up what she was feeling about this news.

"She is still unable to speak properly and is trying to recollect her memories," Nathaniel said, looking at Elliana warily.

This war thing was really changing the innocent girl he knew about.

Then again, who wouldn’t change when faced with this kind of scenario?

"Does she know anything that we can use for our benefit? Judging from how impatient my mother is, I am sure she tried already," Elliana said, and Nathaniel chuckled awkwardly because that was indeed the truth.

"Well..." she quirked her brows.

"She might have an idea where Azrael’s hidden palace is. She might be able to help us get there. And since she has a hint, Grandfather Luscious will be able to find it without alerting Azrael," Nathaniel said, and Elliana hummed.

"How is Ari holding up?" She changed the topic, and Nathaniel sighed.

To keep the girl protected, they had asked her and her supporters to stay on the other side of the caves where they had captivated Azrael first because that was the only place where Azrael’s locator spells wouldn’t work.

Let the witches think they are taking help from some other dark witches and stay wary of them.

They weren’t planning on using much Magna in hiding facts about what they were planning either.

After all, it was a face-to-face fight this time.

"She is still peachy, but she is ready to spend ten more days as long as you promise that you will get Queen Arizona out of Azrael’s clutches. Now that Leila is awake and we can find the place, killing Azrael won’t be an issue anymore," Nathaniel said, and Elliana hummed.

Nathaniel noticed that she was acting a bit weird than the normal days. It was almost as if something was going on inside her head that was troubling her.

"Is there something else bothering you?" Nathaniel asked after some time and she sighed, a dejected expression on her face.

"It’s just, that the royals have asked to see me, and I am quite nervous about it," Elliana whispered, looking at her hands.

"Are you afraid of them that they will say something against you initiating the war?" Nathaniel asked.

She sighed.

"Quite the opposite. I am afraid I will say something that might offend them more than they can take. My powers and heart are already angry about how they were handling the situation with Prince Angelo," Elliana said, and Nathaniel was about to tell her that everything would be okay when they saw Lucas walking to them.

"Princess, Mrs. Ella is here to see you," Lucas said before nodding at Nathaniel, who nodded back.

"Okay," Elliana said, immediately walking towards the living hall.

"Princess, it’s almost time," Lucas reminded Elliana, who clenched her jaws and nodded.

"I will leave after meeting Ella," she assured him, and the subordinate left for the office immediately.

"What brings you here, Glow?" Elliana asked as soon as she saw the girl sitting there in the hall with her hand secured around her belly even when the belly wasn’t even showing.

Might be her motherly instincts. A smile appeared on Elliana’s face as she touched her belly, making the lady smile.

"I want to fight in the war too. I want to support you," Glow signed and Elliana sighed.

She knew she would have to face this sooner or later. Judging from how possessive and protective Glow was of her, it was really amazing that she could keep away for a week.

"I don’t want you to fight, Glow. It’s not about you anymore. You have a baby growing inside you and a husband to take care of," Elliana whispered.

Glow looked down at her feet, unable to say anything as tears brimmed her eyes.

"Am I not worthy to help you anymore? Do you not like me anymore?" Glow signed with her trembling hands, and Elliana’s heart, which had hardened this past week by working so hard the entire day, felt like it took a heavy blow when she saw the tears in her eyes.

"Oh, stupid lady. Do you really think I can grow to dislike you in this lifetime? Your emotions are in turmoil because of pregnancy, my lady. It’s not that I don’t like you, rather I care about you a bit too much. If you were there on the battlefield with my little nephew, I don’t think I would be able to fight, and we both know how much concentration I need to be able to protect everyone along with keeping your beast brother in control," Elliana said, and Glow nodded before wiping her tears.

"Can I not stay here? With you? I won’t be around in harm’s way and will just watch you from afar. It will keep my heart at ease if I will be here. I can even overlook the training too," Glow signed frantically, and Elliana was about to answer when she saw Ambrose push the wheelchair in which Marcello was sitting.

A vampire’s healing speed was marvelous, and for a Duke as strong as Marcello to be in the wheelchair even after a week, anyone could guess how bad his beating was.

"Please allow us to stay, Elliana. I won’t be able to handle her mood swings like that. I know it’s not a lot, but I promise you 109 vampires from my side who can fight in the war. They are all trained officials, but they will be here within an hour for the official training from your commandos too," Marcello said with great difficulty, and Elliana looked at Glow, who was looking at her hopefully.

"Why haven’t we received any reports on the Easter borders? Is the Animal Team not working properly? I need the Phobia Team to dispatch immediately," Sebastian walked inside the palace, his brows furrowed as he talked to Garry and Harry about the reports they were receiving.

Elliana looked at her husband, who was walking straight to her.

"We will immediately convey your message to the teams, sir. The training is in half an hour," Harry informed Sebastian, who nodded, and the two subordinates immediately left.

"Did you eat anything?" Sebastian turned to his wife, nodding at Marcello, briefly.

"I didn’t. I was waiting for you. The chef has already prepared lunch. Let’s go," Elliana immediately stood from her place as she helped Glow to the dining room while briefing Sebastian about everything.

"Are you sure Leila will be able to help us? She is the same witch who was making things hard for you, no? What if once she goes there to find the hint, she joins their team? She knows a bit too much about you guys, no?" Sebastian said, and Elliana understood what he was trying to say.

"After lunch, I will go and meet Leila myself. The elemental leaders were also asking Mom Azura to schedule a meeting about something important," Elliana said, and Sebastian hummed before he placed food on her plate.

"Eat more," he whispered before kissing the side of her temple, making her smile at his small token of affection that he doesn’t miss despite how busy they are.
