The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 633: The kind of rock
Chapter 633: The kind of rock
Elliana entered the room where they had hidden Leila after saving her, her gaze neutral as she looked at the person who was drinking soup at the moment.
"Elliana," Leila immediately pushed the soup slightly to let the helper know she didn’t want to drink anymore.
Her eyes were full of gratitude for Elliana.
"How are you feeling?" Elliana asked as she sat in front of the witch.
"I heard it was you who saved my life," Leila said instead.
"That’s not the answer to my question,"
"Thank you so much," Leila whispered before she tried to move forward to grab Elliana’s hand.
However, before her hand could touch Elliana’s, Elliana pulled her hands away from the bed, making Leila pause for a second before she smiled.
She understood what the problem was. Had she not been influenced by Azrael and Arizona who promised her to meet her own family, nothing like this would’ve happened.
"You were saying something about Arizona before you passed out. I am sure that the information is irrelevant after so long. However, I would still like to hear it," Elliana said, and Leila took a deep breath.
It was the time when Elliana told her that Arizona came to meet her to join hands against Azrael after Azrael stabbed her, and in return, she was ready to free her father.
"It wasn’t Arizona," Leila said.
Elliana didn’t say anything. She just looked at Leila to urge her to continue what she was speaking about.
"Azrael captured Arizona the moment she stabbed her. Arizona had become a big hindrance for Azrael because she was going through some flicker of emotions. I don’t know what the reason was, but she often said to me that she needed you on her side to protect what belonged to her. Maybe that was the reason Azrael captured Arizona," Leila said.
Elliana was prepared for all kinds of news, but this still took her by surprise.
If Azrael had captured Arizona way before her meet in the maze, it only meant one thing. Azrael was impersonating Arizona herself, and for her to do it at a level that her mother couldn’t even identify if it was her elder sister or not, Azrael was really good at it.
This reminded her that Azura’s witch also used the same technique to fool Mr. Marino’s soldiers. It looks like she was teaching this technique to most of her witches, and it was definitely quite manipulating and harmful to them.
The witches can pretend to be anyone they know and infiltrate their camps to know their strategies. If this happened during the war, they would try to end them from within one by one.
"You are thinking about how many witches know this trick, right?" Leila asked, and Elliana, who was lost in her thoughts, raised her head and nodded.
"That’s true. Do you have any estimate of -"
"Four," Leila answered, and Elliana fell deep in thought once again.
Four wasn’t a big number, but if they were so good with their skills, these four were more than enough to turn the entire battle against them by pretending to be one of them.
"You were with Azrael for so long. Every spell and technique of attacking like this has a counterattack or cutting spell that prevents people from being manipulated, no? What is it?" Elliana asked.
Leila nodded.
There was indeed one such spell that could be used to find out if the person in front of you was real or not. However, that spell needed a rock.
"It needs a rock that only the sacrifice clan can provide you," Leila said.
"What kind of rock?" Elliana asked.
Leila sighed.
"It’s a rogue clan that works on the basis of the sacrifices. They have the capability to fulfill almost all kinds of wishes, but every kind of wish comes with a sacrifice that only they decide. The rock that I am talking about is sacred and comes out once in 100 years.
The last time it came out was 76 years ago when the elder of the Sacrificial clan, risked her life to get the stone from the deepest parts of the ocean. She sacrificed her capability to perform magic for that rock. That’s why I hope you understand how sacred it is. If you try to persuade them, they may help you by giving you a part of it," Leila said.
Elliana leaned back in the chair she was sitting in before looking up at the ceiling.
A sacrifice. The witch gave up on her ability to perform magic for the rock. There was no way they would ask for something small either.
Was she ready for any kind of sacrifice that would lessen her energy when she was on her way to fight one of the biggest interspecies wars?
"I will think about it. Is there anything that you know and can help us against Azrael?" Elliana asked.
Leila closed her eyes for a few seconds before nodding.
It was something that she only told Arizona.
"Well, your grandmother is alive," Leila said, and Elliana raised her brows.
What was with all her ancestors coming and making their presence known in her life out of the blue?
"Grandmother?" Elliana asked, unsure if the witch was talking about her paternal grandfather’s wife or her mother’s mother.
"Rebecca, the mother of the three witches your life revolved around. Your maternal grandmother," Leila said, and Elliana hummed.
Nathaniel had indeed once hinted something related to that lady.
"And let me guess, she is in Azrael’s trap too?" Elliana asked.
Leila pressed her lips into a thin line before she nodded her head.
That was correct.
"Okay. I don’t think this information is useful to us. Is there anything else?" Elliana asked again and Leila sighed.
"Look, I am not allowed to say anything particular regarding the matter, but I can only suggest you go and check the queen’s chambers of the white witch kingdom," Leila said.
Elliana nodded at Leila in understanding.
Nathaniel also said to her that since they were going to meet the five elemental witches because of something they wanted to talk about, they should visit Arizona’s room where she keeps most of her secret weapons and what she has attained in her entire life with her tricks and magic.
She was quite hesitant to use something that belonged to her once enemy because she believed Arizona was equally worth the blame for destroying her life.
However, now that even Leila was hinting at it, it looked like she would have to take a look for sure.
"I feel your energies have changed. You look stronger than before. Stronger and more stable. Azura has collected quite a few magna for you," Leila commented when she saw the girl going deep in thoughts.
Elliana looked at the witch before her and contemplated whether to tell her about Luscious.
Though Leila was now on their side, the fact that Azrael had quite a good control over Leila wasn’t a lie either, and they highly believed that it was for the best if they could hide Luscious’s involvement with them.
Let her believe they were still weak and no one was helping them.
"Maybe that’s what we call a mother’s love. However, I do believe that my husband is more credible in this situation. He has been going to different clans to ask the witches to give me some of their Magna so I could survive an extra day," Elliana said, the envy and love in her eyes unmistakable.
Leila smiled at the girl before nodding. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Of course, she knew that. Has she not been a victim of their love bombarding each other when she was spying on them?
"Have a good rest. Just because you woke up recently doesn’t mean you will be exempted from the war. You will have to participate too since you are one of the people who knows Azrael’s and her tactics the best," Elliana said as she stood from her place.
Leila scoffed.
"If I really knew her well, I wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place. Anyway, if it comes to her tactics, if my guess is right, and she has enough time on her hands, she will definitely try to form some bombs," Leila said.
Elliana was about to ask her what kind of bombs she was talking about when someone beat her to it.
"Bombs? What kind of bombs? What are their characteristics?" Nathaniel asked as he appeared there in the room.
Seeing Nathaniel there, Elliana excused herself. She will just ask about the details from Nathaniel later. She didn’t have enough time for all of these things. Her schedule was already tight, and she needed to meet the royals, not to mention this sacrificial clan.
It was a risky move, but she could try and see what kind of sacrifice they would ask for first, no?
Elliana sighed as she looked at the time.
It was almost the time for her to go to hell. In the literal meaning.
