The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 667: She lost her magic
Chapter 667: She lost her magic
"You!" Sebastian glared at Elliana.
"Me?" She asked, confused.
"You are a witch!" Sebastian snarled at her, unable to comprehend his words as he didn’t know what was going on with him and this was the only thing he could come up with.
Elliana looked at the man for a few seconds, suppressing her urge to roll her eyes.
"Well, thank you for speaking the obvious, Mr. Sebastian. I am a witch indeed," Elliana looked straight into his eyes, angering him even more.
Sebastian saw the hint of mockery in her eyes and feelings provoked, he grabbed her throat, slamming her into the nearby wall using his vampire speed.
"Don’t try to act smart with me. Tell me what kind of magic you are using on me. I am sure this is all because of you. You make my head go dizzy and make me hear weird words that are strangely in your voice. Nothing makes sense. And the only reason I can think of is you," Sebastian said.
He would’ve preferred her acting a bit scared and he would’ve thought about leaving her and not squeezing her throat like this. However, when he saw her smiling back at him, he couldn’t help but grit his teeth.
"How dare you smile like that?" He glared and the girl chuckled.
"Seriously, Mr. Sebastian. Don’t say these words you have said just now in front of anyone else. Okay? People might confuse you for being a lover of mine. I have compelled you into something? You say you hear my voice in your head? Do you even hear yourself? What do I tell you in your head? I like you, Mr. Sebastian?" Elliana asked.
Sebastian glared at her.
She was clearly mocking him and judging from the unadulterated expression in her eyes it was clear she wasn’t lying.
And those words he heard...
’Mr. Marino, you are mine,’ freēwēbηovel.c૦m
If he told her that he indeed heard something like that, he wouldn’t hear the end of it and feel helpless in front of someone for the first time in his life. Sebastian turned around and walked straight to the canteen, making the girl scoff as she massaged her throat before following the guy.
"What would you like to eat?" Sebastian asked just for the sake of manners when he knew she wouldn’t be taking anything because they had their lunch one hour ago or so.
However, much to his surprise, Elliana nodded her head.
"Are you paying?" She blinked at him innocently and Sebastian felt his lips twitch behind his mask.
Yeah, as if a King would be pesky enough to ask her to pay for her meal. He shook his head before walking to the counter along with her.
"Can I have an Oreo shake and seasoned french fries with mayonnaise? Also, add half a plate of pasta with a bit of melted cheese on top of it. Umm, a chocolate brownie too. And a medium-sized veg burger," Elliana nodded at herself, proud of her order before looking at Sebastian who was looking at her with his mouth agape.
"Only order for yourself. I don’t like this -" he couldn’t even complete his sentence when Elliana nodded her head.
"This is for me only," she said, and the lady, who had seen this girl’s appetite in the last couple of days, chuckled at the King’s dark expression before quickly muttering an apology.
Sebastian paid for her stuff before paying for two coffees, one for Lucas and one for himself.
"Coffee? Aren’t you guys supposed to drink blood?" Elliana asked as soon as they sat on the seats, and Sebastian rolled his eyes.
"We are being considerate of you," he said.
"Don’t be considerate of me or I will be forced to think that you are a good man," she scoffed before plopping the French fries in her mouth, her expression clearly happy.
Since Lucas wasn’t back yet, his absence appearing a bit strange, Sebastian decided to engage in small talk, wondering what was taking his subordinate so long because he was sure that giving a ball doesn’t take so long.
"If not a good man, what kind of man do you think I am?" Sebastian asked.
Elliana chewed the food in her mouth before taking a sip of drink. She dab her lips with a napkin before looking into the man’s eyes.
"Lonely," she whispered, her words strangely hitting him straight in the chest.
"What do you know?" Sebastian scoffed.
Elliana smiled.
"I don’t need to know anything, Mr. Sebastian. I might not be able to perform magic but it doesn’t mean I can’t read eyes too. You know I am a witch," She said before taking another bite of her food.
Her words intrigued Sebastian.
They don’t really hear about a witch who is not able to perform magic. It was quite a rare condition and he hadn’t met anyone like that ever, so seeing a witch without magic for the first time, he was naturally curious.
"And why can’t you perform magic as you are speaking? Aren’t all witches supposed to be able to perform magic?" Sebastian asked before he looked at his phone, which lit up with an incoming message.
He saw that it was a message from his sister Ella and sighed.
He knew what it was going to be about. She would surely scold him for leaving his date in between and ruining everything, and he wasn’t ready to hear any of that at the moment.
Sebastian looked back at Elliana, waiting for answers, and she smiled, a hint of sadness in her eyes.
"I sacrificed my powers and everything I owned to save someone’s life, someone I loved more than anything in this world, more than logic," Elliana whispered.
Sebastian felt a weird ache in his heart.
Her words, and her sad eyes were stabbing his heart, and he felt the same strange longing in his chest.
He looked at the girl, unsure of what to say. Was there someone who could love someone like that? Was true love really available in this era? It was quite unbelievable for him.
Risking his life, and his powers for someone else was such a farfetched idea he didn’t think he would ever be able to commit to.
"Really?" He asked, wanting to find just one reason as his heart ached again and he drank his coffee with shivering hands to calm his beast who looked like he was mourning something, but just like him, his beast was oblivious to what this pain in his heart was.
Elliana smiled vibrantly again before shrugging.
"Not really. I was told I haven’t found my magic yet," Elliana said.
"You were told?" He asked, trying to find just any clue if he really knew this girl was related to her in any way for her to have this kind of painful influence on his heart.
"Yeah, I don’t remember much from the past. Everything is a messy haze. I probably got into some kind of accident a year ago, and it played well with the screws of my mind," Elliana said as if it was no big deal.
Sebastian could see the sadness in her eyes. It was hard to decipher when she was actually joking and when she was speaking the truth and he sighed.
"So who told you about this and -" Sebastian started again, but Elliana interrupted him this time.
"Don’t you think you are being too curious about a witch you don’t have any business with, Mr. Sebastian? And where is your subordinate who actually wanted to talk to me?" Elliana asked, not looking into his eyes and Sebastian sighed.
He could see she wasn’t willing to share any more than that.
Honestly, it surprised him that he was being so curious about her in the first place. The amount of sentences he had spoken to her, he probably said that many sentences in all his meetings combined in 6 months.
He watched her eating silently, the earlier smile nowhere to be seen anymore. Sebastian sighed.
"Eat slowly. No one is taking away your food," He said and Elliana hummed vaguely, making him sigh.
He wasn’t supposed to be feeling guilty like this. He gritted his teeth before he walked to the counter and asked the lady to give him a butterscotch ice cream.
He went back to the table and placed the ice cream in her tray once she was about to be done.
As soon as Elliana saw the ice cream, her eyes beamed again, and Sebastian bit the inside of his cheeks to stop the smile that was itching on his face.
She was so predictable for real.
