Chapter 669: Know your place

Chapter-669

"Are you ready?" Dexter asked Elliana, who was standing there, feeling weird sensations creeping into her body.

It was strange.

From the moment she entered this racing track area, it was almost as if she had been there many times. Like she has been here her entire life and this was her reigning area.

However, if that had been the case, at least one person would’ve been able to recognize her even if she lost her memories. But judging from everyone’s lost look, it was clear they didn’t know her.

"Hey, is everything okay? You look quite lost," Samantha placed her hand on Elliana’s shoulders to catch her attention.

Elliana looked at her new vampire friend and smiled forcefully.

"Y-yeah, I am fine. It’s just I feel a little weirded out in this place," Elliana said and Samantha was about to tell her she didn’t need to do it if she was feeling uncomfortable, but before she could say anything, Dexter chimed in.

"Weird? Seriously? That’s the lamest excuse you could give to back away from a battle or bet," He said and Elliana glared at him.

She looked at him before sighing.

"Sir, mam, you can come and choose your bikes as you like," The manager walked to them and Elliana looked at Dexter, who scoffed at her before walking inside the Garage where they store bikes.

"Since you are a girl and trying the bikes here for the first time, I would let you choose the bike first," Dexter said and stopped at the entrance of the Garage.

Elliana looked at him from the corner of her eyes but didn’t say anything in return.

She just smiled and nodded, walking inside the Garage with an observatory look on her face.

It was almost as if she had some kind of scanner in her eyes as she looked through the bikes’ parts, analyzing them from afar.

The manager who thought she was a newbie to bike racing and didn’t know how to look for the best one was about to step ahead when Elliana pointed to a particular bike.

"I would like to take that one," Elliana said, her words surprising both Dexter and the manager. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

The manager looked at Dexter to ask him if this girl knew what she was doing or if she was straight stupid.

The bike that Elliana chose was one of the best-modified bikes in the entire garage, in fact, one would say it was the best and most dangerous bike structure, which also made it one of the hardest to handle.

And if one wasn’t really a pro at handling all kinds of bikes, there was no way the person would survive the steep hills and sharp curves.

"Are you sure you would be able to handle it? Don’t blame it on the bike if you lose," Dexter said.

Elliana looked at the bike that was strangely familiar to her before she sighed and nodded at others.

She walked to the bike and touched the handle.

’This is my masterpiece. Glory’s glory,’ A voice echoed in her head and she stumbled back at the weird feeling.

It was her voice for sure, and it almost felt like it was her memory, but she was sure she never come to the vampire kingdom before, so how was it possible for this bike of her memories to be here?

Elliana pressed her lips into a thin line and looked at the manager.

"Who modified this one?" She asked, wanting to see if she perhaps had a meeting or connection with the person who designed this bike and maybe that was the reason she felt like she had some kind of relation to this bike.

The manager looked at Elliana, her question suddenly catching her off-guard. Why? Because he himself didn’t know who modified this bike. Though he was the owner of this court and the main investor and caretaker, it was almost like this bike had always been here in the Garage.

Did they import it from somewhere? The manager wondered.

Dexter chose his favorite bike that he had modified himself before he sat on it and looked at the girl in front of him, motioning for her to sit on it so they could go to the race track.

Though they were the main competitors, there were around 38 more people who were going to race along with them.

Elliana didn’t sit on her bike. Rather she looked at the manager and asked him to have someone deliver the bike at the starting of the race track.

"Are you sure you don’t want to test-ride it?" Samantha, who was worried about her new friend asked, and Elliana looked at the bike before shaking her head.

"I will be fine," She whispered before her gaze landed on her phone.

She had an incoming call from none other than her aunt Arizona, and her brows furrowed.

"I’ll be back," She said before she stepped aside to talk to the former white witch queen.

As soon as she picked up the phone, her soft aura turned to neutral and cold.

Though she didn’t have a recollection of what exactly happened before she lost her memories, from what she had collected so far, this aunt of hers actually used her father’s semen to impregnate herself, betraying her own sister and her husband who was innocent in the act.

"What is it?" Elliana asked as she leaned on one of the trees.

"Elliana, sweetheart, how have you been?" Arizona asked, her voice sweet and caring as always, filling Elliana with slight guilt because she couldn’t bring herself to reciprocate the same care because of what she heard.

Elliana sighed and didn’t say anything in return.

Arizona on the other hand bit her lower lip, a bit uncomfortable before she turned to look at Prakrith and Jalizana, who nodded at her encouragingly.

"Well, actually, I called you because we, I mean, wanted to invite you to the kingdom. It’s... It’s... " Arizona clenched her fists as she found it hard to speak.

Elliana massaged her forehead as she looked at her vampire friends looking at her from some distance.

Her brows furrowed when she realized they probably were able to hear some of her conversations because of their heightened senses.

"Ari’s birthday," Elliana said.

Arizona, who thought that no one in her family cared about her daughter and felt remorseful, felt her heart swell when she realized that the girl she betrayed actually knew about it.

She took a deep breath before nodding to herself.

"Will you please come and grace the celebration of her nineteenth birthday?" Arizona asked and Elliana looked at her nails.

She didn’t know what to reply.

On one hand was the former queen of the witches and out of respect for the throne, she should be going to the celebration, but on the other hand it was her mother, who though talks to this family normally, who was actually hurt because of her sister’s betrayal.

"I will think about it," Elliana said.

"Mom, please," Ari whispered, looking at her mother pleadingly, and the former queen gulped before nodding at her daughter.

"Can- can you please ask y-y-your -" Arizona couldn’t even complete her words when Elliana’s gaze met with Vincenzo, who looked directly at her as if he was meeting one of the most beautiful women in the world.

Seeing the man walking towards her, Elliana was left with no choice but to end the call shortly.

"Don’t forget your place," Elliana said, her cold, void of emotions, freezing Arizona in her place.

The queen couldn’t say anything.

If it had been anyone else in Elliana’s place, she would’ve used her magic and shown this person their place for disrespecting her so openly, but how could she say anything to the moon goddess’s chosen daughter, the one that Luscious and Teresa were protecting themselves, the ultimate true power of the witch community?

"I understand," Arizona ended the call before taking a deep breath and looking at her daughter, who had tears in her eyes.

"Ari-" Arizona started but Ari shook her head and used her magic to disappear into thin air.

Arizona looked at her hands dejectedly, feeling hopeless.

"Don’t worry. You know Elliana better than anyone else. She probably had something to do. Let’s talk to her again. There is still one more day before the celebration," Prakrith tried to comfort the witch queen, who hummed before turning around, her long train of white cloak cascading around the ice as she walked towards her room to isolate herself once again.

At the same time, Elliana stuffed her phone in her pocket as Vincenzo walked to her.

"Have we met before, pretty lady?" Vincenzo asked before extending his hand and Elliana smiled at his pretty eyes.

Seriously, this was one of the most cheesy lines he could use to strike up a conversation with her, but for some reason, rather than feeling offended like she usually does, she actually felt funny and she placed her hand in his.

As soon as their skin touched, Elliana felt another strike to her head.

’No matter what you do, what you choose, wherever you are, I will always be with you, Glory. I will take you out of your misery. It’s a promise I intend to keep,’

Elliana heard another set of voices and she looked at Vincenzo, who had a strange expression on his face too.

It was almost as if he could feel what she was feeling too.
