Chapter 671: Winning the race

"What are you doing here?" Vincenzo narrowed his brows at his younger brother.

Sebastian, who was looking at the back of the girl, immediately averted his gaze to the screen where the above and side shot from the drone was being shown and he scrunched his eyes when he couldn’t see her because of all the dust particles.

"I am asking you a question," Vincenzo looked at his brother, a little annoyed.

Sebastian pressed his lips into a thin line before looking at his brother.

"What is wrong with you? You guys always ask me to take out some time from my schedule for you guys and see what you are doing, always complaining to Grandpa. And now that I am here, you want to complain about it too?" Sebastian asked, trying to find the girl.

When he couldn’t even after trying three times, he glared at Vincenzo.

"What kind of reputed race is? Look at the camera angle. Nothing is visible to the onlookers," He scoffed.

Vincenzo looked at Lucas to understand what his brother was so annoyed for and the secretary shook his head at the prince.

"Sir, I think that one has a better view," Lucas, who knew what or who his boss was looking for even if he was too proud to mention it immediately said and Sebastian shifted his gaze to the screen Lucas was pointing at.

As soon as he looked at it, he immediately found the girl, who looked like she wasn’t doing too well handling that bike.

His fists clenched by his side as his heart skipped a beat when she almost got rammed by one of the bikers.

"Are there no rules in this race?" Sebastian snarled, not even sure why he was becoming annoyed with it.

Vincenzo, unsure of what was provoking his brother, took a deep breath.

"That’s an illegal race we are talking about, brother," he said and Sebastian hummed.

"Well, as the sponsor, you could’ve seen if the manager was doing a better job at it," Sebastian said before he walked to the ropeway to go to the other hill where the race was supposed to end.

"Do you want to die?" Dexter decreased his speed to shout at Elliana, who looked like she was barely handling that bike with how much she was moving and swaying.

She almost looked like a rookie sitting on the bike in the heat of an adrenaline rush. And he hates the fact that she was risking her life when she was actually riding at the edge rather than the inner circle.

"Worry about yourself," Elliana said to Dexter who glared at her.

Well, now no one would say that he didn’t try to talk her out of it.

’Do you want me to take you on a ride?’

’Glory is glorying,’

’I don’t see anyone capable of beating Glory,’

’Are these paintings of me?’

’I will always be by your side,’

’If it’s about surviving, I am very much capable of doing it on my own,’

The words started to echo in Elliana’s head as she was distracted by Dexter and she lost control over her head again.

"Uhhhh! Fuck it!" Elliana shouted angrily to get over these deja vu feelings, her roar-like growl shocked everyone around her as she accelerated her bike, forcing her mind to shut off completely as she focussed on the path ahead.

Her control over her bike became better as she swayed her bike to move forward.

Dexter, who surpassed the second place, looked at his side where Elliana was also riding along with him.

To say he was surprised would be an understatement.

Wasn’t she almost in the middle place? How come she surpassed so many people so easily and so quickly? And her bike, was she revolutionizing it? Why was it suddenly moving so fast?

Dexter almost crashed into the third-place person, distracted by the girl, who looked nothing less than an ethereal beauty while riding so seriously.

He had taken his friend’s words as a joke earlier, a girl’s assets and face weren’t exactly something that attracted him like that, but seeing her ride this bike like a pro, he felt something happening in his heart.

He didn’t even want to take over the first place anymore. Rather he wanted to ride beside her and keep looking at her. That was what he was feeling at the moment.

"Be careful," Dexter shouted as he knew this track like the back of his head.

He knew a sharp turn was coming ahead and it was so risky that if not handled well or slowed the speed it was really fatal.

It was almost as if she didn’t hear his warning, rather than slowing the bike, she drifted it to the inner part of the racing path and made a sharp turn, making all the bikers behind her gasp as they slowed their bikes on instinct.

One wrong unbalanced move from her was capable of sending 10 bikes down the high cliff.

Dexter looked at the girl in horror as she passed the person in the first place.

He watched her doing a wheelie right after the drift before she accelerated it even more, making his heart skip a beat for the second time.

He passed the second position again and followed Elliana as fast as his bike allowed it.

Sebastian, who was watching the race and saw how the girl escaped death narrowly, gulped, not even knowing why he was feeling so anxious.

"This girl is crazy," Drake commented and Alcinder nodded his head, looking at the screen with his mouth agape.

That was incredibly crazy.

"It’s probably because she is a witch and knows if she falls down the cliff, she will use her magic to save herself so that she doesn’t fear death," Melony whispered, but Samantha shook her head.

"There’s nothing like that. She is a different case. She can’t use magic for some unknown reason," Samantha commented, her words catching everyone even more off-guard.

"You mean, she is doing all this well even after knowing falling from there is the ultimate death?" Alcinder asked, and Samantha nodded her head.

Just like everyone had anticipated after that drift, Elliana indeed came in first place, making her smile victoriously in front of Dexter.

"So, are you ready to keep your part of the deal?" Elliana asked and Dexter looked at her with a sigh.

"You want me to apologize first, then consider you my teacher and be your slave until this student exchange program is over and you leave -" Dexter couldn’t complete his words when Sebastian walked to them and looked at the girl.

"So you are bullying my people into slavery now?" He asked, and as soon as Elliana heard him speak, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

"Mr. Sebastian, do you know what I actually want to do?" She asked as she got off the bike before supporting it on the stand.

Sebastian looked into her eyes, her hazel eyes that were full of emotions and hummed vaguely.

Elliana smiled.

She stepped ahead, and leaned forward, almost so her lips were near his ears, her strangely intoxicating scent making his heart go crazy for a second as he felt the same ache in his chest as if he was yearning for someone, or probably her.

Her actions surprised people on that hill, including her vampire friends who came to the hill through the ropeway as soon as the race was over.

"I want to kiss the hell out of you," Elliana whispered, only loud enough for him to hear and Sebastian’s pupils dilated immediately.

Did he hear what he thought he heard? He turned his head to look at the girl, making her do the same, and noticed how her lips were only a couple inches away from his.

Her words surprised him, but what surprised him even more was that he actually wanted to take up the offer.

"Are you playing with me?" He finally asked after some time and Elliana blinked her eyes innocently.

"So you noticed?" She chuckled before stepping back.

"Stop messing with me or I will see to it you don’t see the end of it," Elliana said to him.

Vincenzo looked at his brother, quite perplexed that he was letting a random girl talk to him like this and wasn’t thinking of snapping her neck already. It was true she was a witch and part of the program, but still...

Elliana didn’t wait to hear his response and went to the cliffside instead.

"Hey, can I try it?" One of the random riders shouted, and she threw the keys towards him before looking down the cliff.

Huh...those thoughts, those words... Why were things becoming so hard and weird since she came here? Should she ask her aunt about it? But that won’t be of use. They will probably freak out and -

Elliana couldn’t complete her thoughts when she heard the roar of the engine and before she could turn around, she felt something hard hit her from behind making her stumble forward and fall down the cliff.

"Elliana!" She heard collective gasps around her, but it was too late.
