The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 680: Did she have the same voice?
Chapter 680: Did she have the same voice?
"Did you see her?" Sebastian asked Lucas as soon as they entered the principal’s office and told the receptionist they were there to meet him.
"What about her, sir?" Lucas asked, a little confused.
"That little cunning witch is full of attitude. She didn’t even bother to greet me," Sebastian said and Lucas took a deep breath.
Was it just him or was his boss really acting like a kid? If he wanted to talk to her so badly, why didn’t he talk to her himself? Must he make things harder? Wasn’t he the one who started this by acting like a jerk?
Lucas cleared his throat, obviously not daring to say such words in front of his King.
"I am sure she had her reasons, sir," Lucas said and Sebastian glared at his subordinate.
"And I have been noticing how you don’t leave a chance to take her side. What is it? Have you fallen for her bewitching charms?" Sebastian asked.
Though his question was casual and his expression was calm, it was the sudden change in his aura that told Lucas not to say a wrong word if he wanted to stay alive and he shook his head.
"I wouldn’t dare to court such a special girl. Besides, I am not into witches," Lucas said.
Sebastian didn’t like the way his answer sounded.
"And do you think I am into witches?" He asked, offended.
Lucas grinned inwardly.
"I never said that, sir. Why did you feel like that? Are you falling for her bewitching charms?" He asked cunningly and Sebastian took a deep breath as if barely controlling his annoyance before turning to the main door that led to the principal’s office.
Without wasting a second, he entered the office and looked at the principal.
"King Sebastian Marino, I didn’t know you would be arriving today. I apologize for the delay," The principal immediately stood from his place and closed the file that he was sanctioning about some new equipment needed by the sports department.
Sebastian nodded his head in greeting and sat on one of the chairs, his gaze moving across the office before it settled on the file that was probably the report of the things and experiments being conducted in the laboratory that he had sponsored in the University almost a year ago.
"Is this the report that you wanted me to check? I know I said I would be arriving next week, but I had time on my schedule today," Sebastian asked, and the principal nodded his head.
Seeing his prince so concentrated on the reports, Lucas realized that he was probably thinking too much and it was the principal who called his prince over here for some work.
As Sebastian was looking at the report, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of deja vu hitting him when he read the laboratory’s names and the members actively working in it. At the bottom of the list was now Elliana’s name too.
’Do you want to work in the laboratory too?’ It was definitely his voice that reverberated in his head.
’Mmm, can you arrange that, Mr. Marino?’ It was the female’s voice that haunts him from time to time, but what made him freeze for a second was the fact that the female’s voice sounded strangely familiar to Elliana’s.
His heart skipped a beat as he pondered over everything and gulped.
’Can you feel it too?’ Sebastian asked his beast, who nodded his head slightly. That was all the indication he needed from his beast to go ahead with his plans.
Without wasting a second, he stood from his seat and rushed out of the office, surprising Lucas and the principal.
"Did I do something wrong, Mr. Lucas?" The principal asked Lucas, who shook his head.
"I am sure he remembered some urgent work. I will be back," Lucas said, unsure himself what triggered his boss.
Sebastian, on the other hand, went straight to the biotechnology department. He knew the girl was in her second year and immediately went straight to the classroom.
The sudden interruption from the King himself, made everyone alert as they looked at him alert.
Sebastian didn’t bother to say anything to anyone and scanned the class for the familiar girl. But she was nowhere to be found.
He immediately looked at the professor and asked him where he could find Elliana. However, the professor didn’t know anything about it and shook his head, making him square his jaws.
This feeling in his heart... He needed to know what the truth behind it was.
This longingness that he feels in his heart as if he is missing some piece of his life that was too precious to him like he once held something dear to him that was taken away from him like the love of his life was snatched by destiny, all these feelings, his aching heart, his clouded thoughts, those vague voices in his head that appear every time he heard that girl talk was something unexplainable.
One year ago when he woke up in the hospital, only he knew how hard he tried to find the girl who had a similar voice to the girl in his head, but he couldn’t find anyone. He asked his family if they could think of anyone who was this close to him, any female that he could relate this voice to, but to no avail did anyone give him a satisfactory answer. He was left with nothing.
After so long, he was finally able to find someone who this voice could relate to, and he needed to verify it. Even if it wouldn’t mean anything, he needed to know.
Sebastian looked around hastily, trying to find the girl. He went to the canteen, to the ground, to the cultural room, the backside of the University, but when he still couldn’t find her, he was about to go to the principal room and have him announce her presence needed in the office.
But then he suddenly remembered that she had appeared in the office with Alcinder to take permission to be able to work in the laboratory too.
Since he had gone to the lab too many times on his visit, it didn’t take him long to reach there and he could finally smell her vague and faint scent. He took a deep breath, ready to hear her voice and see if she was the same woman or not.
