Chapter 460: Civil and Military Rivalry

And today, Burchu really makes the elite guards of the Military Advisors opens their eyes to the heroes of the world.

Ten guards is fighting against him and each one of them is defeated by him.

How did he do it?

When he grips his spear, the grip are passive.

His footwork are like the steppe winds.

His eyes look at all possible attack.

When he advance, he is fierce like a roaring dragon, when he retreats, like a dragon hiding among the clouds.

Once he hides among the clouds, he would burst with extreme speed.

But once he attack and the attack become too fierce, he would hide back in the clouds if the opportune moment did not come.

Stick and follow without disconnecting, sudden as winds and storms.

He uses stillness to bait, using retreat to defeat advance, looking for opportunity while recognizing the situation

There is the Art of War in his method of spearmanship.

If the opponent goes low, he goes high. If the opponent goes high, he goes low. The opponent goes left, he goes right, opponent goes right, he goes left.

If the opponent is rushing to advance, soften the pace.

If the opponent retreat, advance, If he fills a space, empty it. If he empties his space, enter and fill it

The spear method of Burchu did not depart from his fist and fighting technique.

The stepping does not depart from the footwork of a fight. He defend his center and warding all threat.

Aligning the three points and none could hurt him

With this kind of method who could rival him in Brolgadhr tribe other than those powerful general and great warriors of Tuoba and Murong?

Ten people rush towards him and ten people were beaten by him

The servant saw that Burchu become faster and faster like accumulating momentum that is gathering and releasing.

The more it gathers, the faster the attack become like a frenzy, like some kind of Mad God dancing with the spear.

The spear come close to the servant but before the ed of the spear is about to reach his stomach, the servant shouted

"The Kan summons you!" The moment those words are utters, Burchu end of the spear stopped inches away from the servant navel

But the gust of wind passes by the servant and it causes the grass on the servant right and left direction to sways violently like some gust of the wind passes by

"Explain!"

"The Kan is on the back and allowed your audience" Burchu hearing this slowly pointed down the spear tip to the ground and without even looking at the servant quickly goes to the back.

This is not the first time that Burchu is here in the residence of the military advisor. He sighed to himself

"It is a pity that I came here not to eat or drink but to stop something that should not be done"

This is the thoughts of his head as he walk toward the road leading to the pod and the balcony.

...

Burchu arrived at the balcony and he could see two figure. Both of them seems to be looking at the pond.

Even looking at their back, Burchu knows who it is

Aeryon turns back and look at Burchu

Burchu look at the Kan and he was about to kneel but Aeryon said

"No need. Tell me why you came here" Tonight....which should be a joyous night, a calm night, has to many chaotic moments.

From the moment he goes to Ayera residence to now, how many plots and scheme is moving in the background?

Aeryon really wanted to know

"I heard what happened to the Utgard tribe. I wa-" But before he could finish his words Aeryon raise his hand and Burchu knows that this is his sign for him to stop speaking

"Who told you?"

"Elder Rukari"

Aeryon hearing this went silent for a moment.

And then he smiles

"She knows the line. It is good. Very good" he mutters to himself.

Aeryon first fear was that Ayera was the one that sent Burchu here. If that is the case, he had to become even wary of his wife.

And it is not only his wife he had to be wary about.

He also would be wary of Burchu. If today, he could follow the order of his wife to come here, what if one day...just thinking about it could give him nightmares at night

If he could even convince one of his cultivated new general to listen to her order, then this woman is so dangerous that it might even arouse his killing desire.

But if its Rukari, then it is understandable and reasonable.

Rukari is the Elder of this tribe and also Aeryon own blood related Elder. His uncle. If it is his uncle, then Aeryon understand why he would send Burchu.

And why his uncle could know about this matter. Other people are not qualified to meddle in this matter but Aeryon uncle could.

Just like Mayeux, Aeryon did not question the loyalty of his uncle towards him.

He might not believe some of the ambition that Aeryon have but his uncle is very much eager for him to prove him wrong

Ayera is his wife.

It is then understandable and reasonable that she would go to his uncle, a family, to send someone to persuade him.

He had promised Ayera.

But Ayera is not some naïve girl that would believe everything that is spoken to her

She probably fears that he would change his mind.

After all, she is the daughter of the Viper.

How could she not know that words are light and promises could be broken?

While public oaths are very much respected, words between chief could not be trusted and everyone understand

When it is about interest of the tribe, breaking promises is something that is not out of the realm of possibility

Maybe, that is why she mobilized his uncle.

His uncle could not stop him if he did not want to help Garron but Ayera must have known that Aeryon really does care about his uncle.

His uncle is old.

And if it was his uncle that came here tonight, knowing Mayeux, if he heard the report that his uncle come here, he would make sure that none could enter this compound to talk to him

Ayera....maybe she recommended Burchu to be sent here.

After all, these two have intersection in the past.

Aeryon sighed for a moment.

Tonight, Mayeux and Burchu and even him all gathered under the same roof.

Aeryon and Mayeux has always been the one guiding the tribe.

And Burchu, this is a person that the Kan has high hopes for and he has already been leading soldiers of the tribe.

These three people are now under the stars, under the same roof, and whatever they talk about.....is surely about something important.

There is only silence between Burchu and Mayeux.

Mayeux looks at Burchu and his eyes is shining bright, and Burchu, a young man look straight at Mayeux without flinching.

There is not many people with that kind of bravery in the tribe that dares look at Mayeux like this.

There is this kind of honesty in his eyes.

They are both young man and they both have talents and of course they are competitive.

And it helps that Burchu has a spear on his hand.

That spear tip is pointing toward the ground, but Aeryon knows that for someone like Burchu, to swing that spear and take someone life is very easy and it would be very swift.

The distance between Burchu and Mayeux is only three feet apart.

Ideal distance to strike.

Burchu however take great pains to make sure that his distance toward Aeryon is more than four feet

If he comes closer, then what would Aeryon think of him?

Even though the Steppe does not have regulation like not bearing weapons when meeting the Kan, which rulers in the world like it when his powerful subordinate is around him wearing weapons that could take their life?

Aeryon chuckles inwardly.

"this boy looks honest and a little dumb and only know the spear but it seems he also has learn something and knows a little politics"

Though whether this kind of behaviour could be called politics is debatable. It is more common sense.

If Burchu did not even have this kind of common sense, it would be hard to survive in this world.

Burchu is a great commander. He knows when to attack, when to retreat, when to pursue, when to defend.

Give him a few more years and Aeryon would not worry when sending him to a frontline of a big war.

Mayeux on the other hand is his chief strategist.

He is his advisor and the only advisor that he trusted.

It is not like Aeryon did not have any other advisor. He have advisor that the Ashana sent and he has advisor that the Elder Council sent.

But those advisors are not advisors that could help him win the world and he rarely talk with those advisors.

Mayeux position as Aeryon right hand man is known by many and it is not a secret.

Aeryon simply look at these two youths, looking at each other, eager to compete with each other.

Aeryon did not think such rivalry is bad.

Heroes cherish heroes and talent cherish talent.

Both of them know the limit of things they could do and things they could not do.
